hell mj quit on basketball! Not just his city, but the sport all together! He quit in his prime for selfish reasons. He thought he was too good for the nba, and quit on everyone!

Winning championships got boring I guess. Lebron wouldn't know what 3 in a row feels like

Use it as a crutch? What am I using it as a crutch for?
He wasn't hated nearly as much back then.

Uhh no that's not common sense. LeBron did that and certainly isn't hated in Cleveland and it's pretty reasonable to say a minority of NBA fans hate him.
He's hated by a lot of people. I wouldn't say a majority of fans hate him but it's close to 50/50.

Crab dribble
The list goes on and on before the 2010 offseason.

For whatever reason, MJ fans and older fans felt threatened by Lebron. I cant explain it but it was like Lebron was here to steal a part of their past and they were going to have none of it

Well there's no way to prove whether he was hated more back then or now but I saw it differently.
It seemed to me since we were exposed to him so early that most people loved him. Then he got drafted by his hometown team and he was just set up to be a guy everybody liked.
Then he made "the decision" and even ESPN started calling him a villain.

He was definitely hated back then. That happens when you're the best player in the league. MJ was hated too.
But most people were on his side back then. It's a lot closer to 50/50 now

Were you paying attention at all? Wade couldn't be counted upon in the playoffs anymore even when he rested 35 games to be ready for that exact situation. That team had 3 "great" players, but two of them were inconsistent and their overinflated contracts made it difficult to build a solid roster under the cap.
As constructed it was obvious that Lebron would have to continue carrying them under the façade of the "big 3" and a bunch of mid-level exceptions and veteran's minimum contract players late in their careers that Lebron happened to be able to recruit. Having said this, you don't seem very rational about this topic and likely don't want to have a reasonable discussion anyway so I'm probably wasting my time.

Don't you mean the Scottie pippen effect. Bulls with pippen, 6 titles. Without, 0 titles
Posted on 5/27/15 at 12:17 pm to lsupride87
Forgot Pippen had 6 finals MVP's

For a GREAT sports city starving for a championship, has there ever been a better story in sports? If Lebron can deliver a title to a city that hasnt felt glory in 51 loooooong years, will that put Lebron at the top? Is winning one title in Cleveland a game changer for his legacy? Being a hometown kid and lifting an entire region and fanbase from its knees of futility is such a great story. If there is ever a time, the time is now! For all the jokes, negative comments and heartbreak, Cleveland has remained loyal to its franchises. 51 years is long enough! No excuses, get it done and earn it!
Gain some perspective, you loser.

Wut?
It is a good story, but it would have been an even better story if he never left his "hometown" to go play with his friends in South Beach.

He is also in the east. Now if he dominates the Warriors like he did the Hawks I might be impressed.

You must have also forget the Bulls did better with Pippen and no jordan, then they ever did with Jordan and no Pippen. You forgot that too
Posted on 5/27/15 at 1:12 pm to Buckeye Backer
It's a good story but not particularly heart warming or special in a historical sense. Mainly because I don't think the public has a love affair for LeBron like they have for other mega athletes.
Posted on 5/27/15 at 1:13 pm to lsupride87
Also the season after Jordan's first retirement the Bulls lost only two games more than the previous season and pippen was 2nd in MVP voting.
