While I'm not a fan of reboots, I would love to see a well done League movie. Not sure how much confidence I have in that though.

20th Century Fox is rebooting its 2003 historical comicbook film “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” with John Davis on board to produce through his Davis Entertainment banner.
Ira Napoliello and Matt Reilly are overseeing the remake, based on Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill’s graphic novel of the same name, centering on Victorian-era literary characters such as Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man, Tom Sawyer, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde teaming to fight a common enemy.

Obligatory Idria Elba should play Alan Quartermaine post.

I liked the 2003 version as well. Glad I'm not alone

You're all horrible people.
In all seriousness, the 2003 version wasn't awful. But I thought it could be much better. Or at least better casted. It's one of those guilty pleasure deals that could be a lot better IMO.

The League of Extraordinary Gentleman can actually afford to be remade. For one....Tom Sawyer was not even in the graphic novel (they placed him and Shane West in there to make the film more appealing to American audiences). For another....the film was complete and utter crap. I remember reading Roger Ebert's review for it shortly after the film was released and remember agreeing with it completely.

It's the movie that made Sean Connery quit acting.

I liked it too and really appreciate how many practical effects they used for that movie. The whole streets of Venice set piece is fun even though its completely ridiculous and probably one of the bigger issues people had with it. The tone was a little bit uneven and the Mina Harker vampire stuff was lame. Nemo as a ninja like fighter was a bit much.
I was kind of hoping Agents of SHIELD would rip off what they did for the Jekyll/Hyde transformation for when Cal went Hyde.

I liked it too. This is a weird remake to do, but I guess, when you got nothing....

Good. I liked that movie.

The last LOEG was OK as a film but it had nothing to do with the comic. It's one of the main reasons that Alan Moore wants nothing to do with Hollywood. A crappy take on his book and he gets caught up in a money grab of a lawsuit by someone claiming the idea as their own.
A film based on Moore's books would be ten times as good as the Connery movie.

See above. I think it's the Idris Elba thing now.
