How many number one seeds have won a National Title?
1 - Miami back in 1999
So for some odd reason the committee decided UCLA deserved the top spot over the team that probably should have gotten it and we thank them

I agree for the same reason. Glad we are not the number 1 seed, I believe history is on the side of 3 seed and lower.

I'm not a math scientist here so these numbers could be off a bit, but some of the explanation for this could be that in a grouping of 64 teams, the 3-64 group could potentially contain more teams than the group only containing Teams 1 and 2...

I hate the "It's a good thing we lost" rationalization. Because in this case we would have been the #1 seed if we win the tournament and maybe still should be. But all this means is that the previous #1 seeds didn't have enough to get it done. And if we have enough to get it done we will get it done regardless of the seeding.

There is no #1 overall seed curse...everyone in the CWS is good and capable of winning. I wanted the #1 overall seed.

If you want to look at history, we don't want to be a national seed at all. Only 2 have won the CWS in the past 11 years.
