And you want to pay for more of thier medical bills because they sure as hell are not going to pay for MD Anderson when they get lung cancer.

ere's another food stamp fact. Maine just enacted a measure saying food stamp recipients need to work 20 hours a week, or do 24 hours of volunteer work a month to keep food stamp benefits.
You would think with the "myths" you posted that not many would be affected, considering most of them work right?
Well just 24 hours a month of required work cut the number of recipients 80%!
80% of people were not even willing to work LESS THAN AN HOUR A DAY!
Except that is skewed and you last sentence is blatantly false. All Recipients have not been reduced by 80%. Those are able bodied non-disabled adults who do not have children. Also, many of those are no longer on the program because they have found work and no longer qualify.

Site linked are "Forward Progressives" and The Hunger Coalition. I'm sure neither one of those has a vested interest in making this program look better than it is
Except the data is correct.

shite! Are there really made up stats and false stories on the interwebs? And people on the OT believe this stuff?
Color me shocked.

Sure. IRS couldn't find Lois Lerner's emails either

How you know it was hers?
It sure seemed like it was.
She was also dressed professionally and with nice jewelry which is what made me curious about her using an EBT card to begin with. I was right behind her and noticed she had to pay twice like all the EBT users do. Once using the card then again for the shite the card won't pay for. I found it strange. I only bought one thing so I walked out in time to see her driving off in a Yukon.
Now, she could have been buying stuff for a family member with their card or something. Who knows? But to pass off every instance of this happening as being BS made up here is naive.

Nationally, most of the people who receive benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program are white. According to 2013 data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which administers the program, 40.2 percent of SNAP recipients are white, 25.7 percent are black, 10.3 percent are Hispanic, 2.1 percent are Asian and 1.2 percent are Native American

most people in this country are white though dumbass

You don't know a thing if you don't think fraud is rampant. I see it every day in dealing with c store electronics.
Posted on 5/25/15 at 9:28 pm to OC504
So you're saying 70% of the population makes up only 40% of food stamp recipients.
I don't think those stats say what you think they say.

Correct. You want to look at percentages of each race that use it. Nearly 1/3rd of African Americans use some type of Gov assistance IIRC.
ETA: There is this stat too
quote:
Though blacks are only 12% of the population, black households make up 1/3 of all food stamp participants.

No shite, since white people comprise somewhere between 65 and 75% of the population (off of the top of my head).

Should only have nutritious foods on the food stamp food list, should not be accepted at convenience type stores, and should only be for some types of meat items.
