Player would be Belle or Adcock with Dark not far behind. Overall impact on the MLB has to Dark.

Can't really speak to the pre Bertman era, but as far as the '80's thru the present...it's Albert Belle and the #2 guy is waaaaaay below him.

nice way of saying he was a dick, a huge dick, and sportswriters have long memories and bear grudges

Based on the lack of votes for Sosa, Bonds, and McGwire, it doesn't look good for him.

BTW-No player caught with a corked bat has made the hall of fame.

It's Belle. He should have been the MVP one year but got totally screwed over because of his personality. He was an RBI machine before era of the roids.

can you imagine giving him some juice and what he would have become? Mike Tyson X 5

No, we're not fricking idiots. It just may stick out in our mind if an LSU athlete is drafted no.1 overall.

That's a really bad comparison, and Major League players "bust" at a much higher rate than the NFL.

You sure about that? It was the era before people were getting caught, but I am pretty sure the early 90s was prime time for roid use.

And no, Mel Ott did not go to LSU (drafted out of Gretna HS), but he is likely the best baseball player ever from the state of La.

Agreed.

Joe Bill Adcock as the 2nd best followed by Ron Guidry and Joey Bell.

Next, was Al Dark.

Mel Parnell was a good left handed pitcher for the Red Sox, back in the day.
