Custom Homes by Jim Fussell, Inc
Baton Rouge, LA
Allegation: Problems relating to the ability of the contractor, its qualifying party to engage in the business of contracting as demonstrated by their prior contracting experience.
Action: Found guilty by the Board. Fined and assessed all cost associated with the proceedings. Revoked all active licenses.
He must have screwed up bad. It takes a lot for them to revoke a license.
They usually only go after people that are practicing without a license or subbing out work of $50K or greater to someone without a license.
One more:

Denham Springs, Louisiana
Allegation: Having problems relating to the ability of the contractor to engage in the business of contracting, as demonstrated by their prior contracting business experience
Action: No contest plea accepted by the Board. Surrender CL.52569 in lieu of any financial penalty and revoked RL. 880606. Cease and desist order issued.

Hope you don't need him to build you a home.

So he obviously screwed you over, I hope it wasn't too bad. I've been screwed out of 6 figures in a business deal before so I feel your pain. frick people like that.

Fussell built quite a few homes by my last home-several I know that post on here. He lost multiple lawsuits and I do believe has criminal accusations. Nothing new. This has been in the works for a decade.
If the right people click this thread you will get some great stories. He fricked a lot of people on houses because he claimed to be a builder yet couldn't build a fricking outhouse. An arrogant tool and while a lot of people will never be made whole I'm sure they are happy and wouldn't piss on his arse if it was on fire.

Why?
I was just reading the contractors bulletin like I do every month and found it interesting they revoked the guys license. It's not something they do a lot and it takes a lot for them to take that action.

It's amazing to me that those sort of guys operate as long as they do before something gets done about it.
It's also crazy that word of mouth doesn't drive them out quicker.

He fricked people so bad they had him on all three local newscast a few months ago coming out of district court after the judge handed his arse to him in a bucket.

Fussell built a home for someone in my family. They spent 15 years suing him for the costs to repair the poor workmanship.
Dude should be in jail.
Most of the residential contractors are building homes largely unsupervised. They send the subs out and let them do their own thing and you end up with a shite sandwich at the end....

I figured he must have fricked you over for you to call him out on here but after seeing the other comments this dude seems like the scum of the Earth

The contractors license board does not need judgement from a court to revoke a license. It happens quite often. Just most holders can request a hearing, plead their case, pay a fine and move on. But Jim Fussell was on double secret probation. He was and is an extra special douchebag.
I get the same bulletin.
I get the same bulletin.

Stout can really pull them in if he retitles this thread to something more eye catching then.
Dew it.

This is what one of their inspectors told me. It wasn't that they need a judgement but that they usually won't really act without one unless it's an extreme case like this one appears to be. I guess that's to weed out the people that bring in unjust complaints.
A sort of way to legitimize and sort out the idiots that think a cosmetic warranty means the contractor will repaint your house for free 6 months later because you no longer like the color. BTW, that really happened to me once.
