If they plan on offering him a long term deal it may be worth thinking about. With a few key personnel moves this team is a WS threat.
1 TOR starter
closer
Correa
lowrie

Depends completely on what they're giving up. I don't mind a rental at all if they aren't giving up any of those high level guys

Just can't buy into that yet

You'd be upset if they did something to shore up their rotation?

We have lots of good prospects to deal and high picks this hear to replinish....if they stay true to their word and start spending money on Fa next winter we can afford to trade our pieces not named correa

I would like to keep Velasquez as well, but overall I agree

He's surely better than what we've got going on the back end right now. But I dont think he's great. He's had one really good year as a start and has otherwise hovered around a 4.00 ERA.

What? The HR barrage is real. If you put a smardizgia type ace with keuchel and mchugh...Feldman becomes a good 4 and hernandez a good 5. Hell mccullers might be the closer by end of year....this is real.

You can't buy into the fact that the Astros have the second best record in ALL OF MLB and are scouting potential pieces to possibly make a deep postseason run? when are you gonna stop being a negaastro and start enjoying this? God knows, we've waited long enough.
ETA: While it's still early, it's not that early. We're a quarter of the way through. It's time for them to start thinking of additions for end of June or July.

For one year, hell yeah. You're wasting prospects in a year where you have glaring holes and aren't exactly built for playoffs right now. Just trying to use perspective here. This is fun, don't get me wrong at all, but I still think 16 and beyond is the time where you can think avlbout half season rentals.
I just don't agree giving up to top the line prospects for a pitcher for months.

That's how this game works. If we're still in first I don't care if it's a rental or not, they need to do something. Who knows what will happen next year and we're back in the cellar. Look at the Rangers last year, they were expected to make another postseason run and ended up with the #4 overall pick in this years draft. Nothing's a given in this game.

Im just pumping the brakes. These past ten years, I just don't trust them enough to get my hopes up quite yet.
Maybe Correa will change my mind. I'm pretty convinced he's coming up soon

most of the prospects won't do shite in the major leagues. That's true for all teams. Protect your untouchables like Correa bit when you have a chance to bolster a team like this you do it. Add a 1 or 2 SP to keuchel and McHugh and this team is dangerous with this bullpen and power.

These past 10 years we haven't had anything come close to the success we're currently having. Except that one year Selig screwed us.

Agree. It's been 9 years of crap with the last 5 being utter steaming shite. Strike when you have the chance.
