Georgia?
Georgia.
The whole day through.

Been to the resort a couple of times for corporate meetings and retreats. If you fly into Columbus, it's OK. Frick driving there from anywhere including ATL.

I can go plenty of other places more conviently and be happier once I get there.

EDIT: I don't golf. Possibly that might make it more bearable if one golfs.

The Christmas lights were awesome when I was a kid. That's really the only memory I have of it

I went as kid for about 3 days each year around Christmas with my family. Fun for family type mini vacations, and there's plenty of stuff for everyone really. Butterfly garden, rent bicycles, birds of prey, golf, nature trails with old rustic chapels and of course the light show. I always had a good time, but haven't been in a few years.

I have been twice recently, the gardens are beautiful and the lights at Christmas are amazing. There is a drive through zoo nearby where you can feed a bunch of inbred animals from your car, or rent one of theirs. Your kids will enjoy it, they have several exotic animals and a bunch of domestic.

When I owned my concession/food truck business, I contracted with CG to be their only outside food vendor for special events weekends for two years. They were great to work with and always gave my family a free place to stay throughout the year. My kids loved the beach area and the bicycling. It is a great two night stay during the summer if you have kids.

My family went every year when I was a kid. We had a blast. Old school mountain resort with modern stuff. That was 20+ years ago though. Wife and I are talking about reviving the tradition.

Went there 15-17 years ago and i remember it was really fun. Lots of stuff to do like golf, biking, water sports, etc. No clue what shape it's in today but it was really nice when we went

I went while evacuated from Katrina on the day we found out most of N.O. was being inundated with water. Pregnant wife and I were sort of driving around in a daze and came upon the place. Lady at the gate just waved us in when we said we were from N.O. Don't really remember much else about the place, so I guess I'm no real help here.

I took my wife there back in 1996/97 or so for a weekend. We lived in Birmingham at the time.

To tell you the truth, I don't remember much about it other than our room wasn't that great... but I did remember feeling good about it when I left.

Bottom line, it's a pretty place to take your gal for a quiet weekend. Women love shite like that.

We went there last summer. I have kids and they really enjoyed it. The "beach" on the lake is decent. The water obstacle course inflatable thing was a riot. My cousins and I who are all in our thirties had a blast on that thing and laughed our asses off. The facilities seem like they haven't really been updated since the late 80's. The butterfly garden and other gardens were really nice. The golf course was legit.

TLDR: Enjoyed it. Would do it again.
