Might want to wait on the PC patch. In fact, I can't even connect to get it from GOG.
Seems the patch might do more harm than good. I'll wait to see reviews from people who got it.
Looks like framerates take a hit on the consoles.

So much for the Wolf armor being the best. Now all Witcher is the same level. The alternate movement is nice. Now I can't figure out if I want to go Cat, Griffin, Ursine, or Wolf.
I may just start a new freaking game and I haven't even beaten this yet.

Question...when I craft armor/weapons, do I need to keep them for further future upgrades or can I just sell them? Example, I crafted some enhanced griffin trousers. I don't want it, but afraid to sell it because I don't know if I will need/want them later to upgrade it. Right now, I've been going out of my way to store them in the stash crate, but it is getting tedious. Thanks.
Otherwise, great game and glad I listened to you all and bought it.

Never sell the Witcher gear. You must have the "enhanced griffin gear" to craft the "supreme griffin gear". It's the same for each type of Witcher gear. There's no reason to ever sell any of the Witcher gear.
However, if it's just normal swords or armor, than I usually broke it down and then sold what I didn't need.

I bought this game on Prime Day.
It seems cool so far but I have no idea what I should be doing. I'm at the "Bloody Baron" quest currently. Is it better to try to start sidequesting immediately or should I be going through the main story? Is there are gear upgrades I probably want to go for?
I've never played a Witcher game before and I'm struggling to get invested in anything and find a purpose. I sort of lean towards building up my character to doing fun, over-powered things in games like this.

This was the first Witcher game I played also and basically you just want to go at your own pace. I would just do the side missions and story missions to where they correlate with your character's level, because if you get OP'd then you won't get the EXP later if you try and do them (I think it you're five levels higher than the suggested level you won't get exp).
You also can find some Witcher armor and weapons in Velen.
My only playthrough was kind of fricked because I had the Pyres of Novigrad glitch for like two weeks so I had no choice but to do sidemissions and I got OP'd really quickly.
I'd assume whenever I play the game again, that I would just kind of stay with the missions that were relative to my character's levels. The one thing I'd advise is to not rush through the main story, do some of the main story and then come back to the rest later if you want. There are quite a few side missions that have great plots and can ultimately have an impact on the game later.

Thanks for the input - that would be disappointing to try to grind EXP and have the level restraint screwing you out of points.

Final free DLC is NG+
Some details on the NG+
quote:
What carries over?
Player experience (if you're below level 30 when finishing the vanilla game, you will be bumped to level 30 for the start of NG+), items (excluding: quest items, books & letters, Gwent cards, usable items, trophies), money and alchemy recipes.
When starting New Game Plus you can select any difficulty level.
You can obtain the Death Match achievement when playing the NG+ mode.
What's the starting level of the character when beginning NG+?
The same that you had when finishing the game, if above 30, otherwise you start at level 30. You also get a free Clearing Potion at the start so you can reset your skills and try a different build.

I wonder if they went ahead and scaled the quest difficulty?
If they didn't, then what is the point? If you start out level 30+ you won't get any XP for any quest.

Well I finally finished the main story
SPOILERS
Geralt and Triss ended up together. Triss is rich as frick so I'm happy with the decision. Geralt taught Ciri everything he knew and she became a witcher known throughout the land. Oh, and the Redanians won the war and burned all healers, non-humans, and basically anyone that didn't follow the Eternal Flame. Didn't exactly like that part of the ending but Geralt and Ciri got their happy endings.

First I can't believe he let that clown live, and second, since he didn't try to kill him, he missed that really fun battle to get to Radovid.

Honestly? I kind of forgot about that mission

I have this on PS4.. just finished up the Bloody Baron quest. I honestly have trouble getting through this game.. Does it pick up more later? I find the combat uninspired and repetitive and the storyline hasn't really sucked me in yet.
Maybe I'm just playing it wrong?

Don't want to go searching through the thread, but what's the best way to make some money in this? All I've done is sell the shitty weapons bandits carry.

Wow. I absolutely couldn't disagree more.
I love that you actually have to dodge and time attacks instead of the normal button mashing you get from pretty much 100% of all RPGs.
Also love the early difficulty.

If you haven't yet, start doing some of the horse races and boxing matches. Getting through a couple of those things (with max bets each time) will net you some quick cash.
