The stupid girl just now on the sec network was talking about girls softball and referred to LSU as the Louisiana Tigers really sec network should get better women on their programs at least know the schools you are talking about

I saw that, she was ad libbing that was not teleprompter. And then they both said the home run LSU hit in softball was obviously foul while they showed a slow motion replay of it going over fair.

but the term "Louisiana Tigers" in reference to LSU, while not a preferred or common term... is not incorrect either. It is just a shortened version of the actual name.
The following examples will probably make my case worse for some Rantards, but note:
- the end-zone at Texas A&M reads "Texas Aggies"
- a very common name for Ohio State in the Midwest, particularly Michigan, is "Ohio Buckeyes"
- both UNC and USC claim the "Carolina" name
but the term "Louisiana Tigers" in reference to LSU, while not a preferred or common term... is not incorrect either. It is just a shortened version of the actual name.
