On the upside, you don't have to throw out as many people when no one gets on because you catch just about everything hit to the outfield.

CPM was quoted recently re the attributes he looks for in recruiting outfielders & arm strength was the last thing he looked at. So, obviously, he knew about these arms when he signed them.

I guess that will work for college, but not MLB. How many big league players do you see with weak arms?

Not many. That's why they're in the big leagues and Stevenson and Laird play college ball.

as I recall, a great throw by an outfielder had one runner out at the plate but for a great slide and questionable call by the Umpire.

It was off line, go back and look. Scivique was about three feet toward pitcures mound. If it would have been on line the runner would have been tagged out. Two runs were scored because of weak outfield throws. No these did not lose the game but in a close game it will.

Then way are they projected to go so high in the draft? I don't get it.

I can't believe Fraley doesn't have a better arm....I thought he was a huge recruit when he came to LSU? Anyone know why?

There are thing you can do with a player to get his arm stronger. You can't teach speed and instincts.

I though he had a better arm as well than what I saw on that throw home last night. He might have been deeper than I remember but I don't know how that play was even close.

They say a proverbial 5 tool player! The only MLB ready outfielder is Foster, and he's on second.

Looks like the word is out on the arms for the outfielders. SC didn't hesitate to tag up and go home. This is where Foster would come in handy. Watch how many times it happens in the SEC tournament.

You do realize the freaking throw was right on the money, and the base runner performed a freak slide that avoided the tag out, right? The throw was there.

Yea, how about the many outs caught on the run that need no throw. And to compare the outfielders arms with a coach who sits in the dugout watching his pitchers rot is stupid.

Fraley does have a decent arm.
Every throw to the plate isn't always a strike from the outfield.
Yes his throw Last night was a little off line, not too far, but I seem to remember him making some pretty good throws in a couple other games.

I was a little disappointed in Fraleys power numbers.
He seems to have a little power, but everything he pulls is a ground ball, and many of his hits to left are weak flies.
