re: CPM is still easily the best coach LSU has out of the Big 3 men's sports

He's overrated!!

Why should Laird settle for $100K rather than return to LSU?
Because he doesn't want to put up with Mainieri BS for another year!!!

They say a proverbial 5 tool player! The only MLB ready outfielder is Foster, and he's on second.

Not many. That's why they're in the big leagues and Stevenson and Laird play college ball.
Then way are they projected to go so high in the draft? I don't get it.

as I recall, a great throw by an outfielder had one runner out at the plate but for a great slide and questionable call by the Umpire.
It was off line, go back and look. Scivique was about three feet toward pitcures mound. If it would have been on line the runner would have been tagged out. Two runs were scored because of weak outfield throws. No these did not lose the game but in a close game it will.

CPM was quoted recently re the attributes he looks for in recruiting outfielders & arm strength was the last thing he looked at. So, obviously, he knew about these arms when he signed them.
I guess that will work for college, but not MLB. How many big league players do you see with weak arms?
LSU outfielders arms

Looks like the word is out on the arms for the outfielders. SC didn't hesitate to tag up and go home. This is where Foster would come in handy. Watch how many times it happens in the SEC tournament.

It did cost Foster his Senior Day recognition, though I don't know if that is considered a big deal to a player.
Not to Jared, but devastating to his mom. You can imagine, the worst Mother's Day of her life.

If he could have applied a little effort and earned a C and avoid LSU (the institution) from declaring him ineligible. You are correct sir. I sure hope this does not send the wrong message to present and future athletes. It's OK to make a "D", we will figure out away to keep you in the game.
Lol he has a C not a D! This poor kid can't win for losing! The appeal process corrected that.

Bregman like refuses to ever be rested. He starts every game and they almost never pull him out of games at the end even if we're blowing the other team out. If Mainieri made him sit out a game, I bet he'd pitch a fit.
It must be in his contract! Lol
re: My formal apology to Jared Foster

What a travesty this was! He was never inlegible, but he had to miss the Missouri series, and senior day! I can only imagine what his poor parents went through. What a nightmare of a Mother's Day for his mom. I would hope CPM makes it right for him and his family before the season is over.

It's interesting that this happened during the game, I thought CPM would wait till after the game to make decisions like this.
The decision was made before the game started. CPM called Foster and told him to pack his bags for SC

He has already been reinstated to the team. NCAA rules were clearly in his favor. With no special consideration, he ALSO won his appeal regarding the grade. So haters wanna hate.... He is a class act in my book.

Happy for him; hope to hear that PM reinstates him soon. He's never been any thing but a good representative for LSU baseball (other than this one issue).
CPM called him before the UNO game and told him to pack his bags for SC!
quote:
Glad he is back. Who gets left out of the lineup this weekend, sciambra, zardon, or foster?
Foster will start and they will do a lefty righty matchup with Zardon & Sciabra like always.

quote: Jared Fosters professor told CPM that he would have helped Foster out if Foster would have showed up to class within the last 6 weeks.
So where did you get this information?

That was my thoughts as well. Unless CPM was only trying to make a statement that no matter what the situation is if your deemed academically ineligible your done until it gets straightened out.
What ever happened to a coach having a players back until the due process was complete? How many times did you see Jimbo Fisher defend Jamis Winston last year?

We honestly shouldn't feel bad for him. I hope it all works out, but if you can't take care of your books, you have no business on the field. You are a student-athlete while you have the "LSU" on your chest. Take care of your business. You can go to class, pay attention, not study, and pass.
What everybody doesn't understand is; The reason he is failing by (1) point is his partner on a group project said he had a donor and failed to get the donation at the last second.

He will win his appeal.

Its clear to me Mainieri doesn't like Foster. His ineligibility didn't start until Monday, and he knew Foster was appealing. Most coached would stick up for there players. I'll put it this way if is was Bregman, Stevenson or Laird we probably would not of heard anything about this, because coach would have intervened.
