And to the others, it's the "a bird in the hand" type issue. If this elite talent asks to sign here, you think Jones would tell him no so we "might" get a mid year transfer? Why? Wouldn't that transfer have to sit out a year?
Jones wouldn't turn down a top 50 talent, at a position of need, on what may be the most talented roster he will EVER have as a HC at LSU, to hold out for a "potential" mid year transfer. The holding out for a mid-year transfer never, and still doesn't make any sense.
Bottom line: Unless he is a troublemaker (which there is no indication of) or LSU knows they will be getting a BETTER frontcourt prospect to join next season's roster, if Dickerson wants to come to LSU Jones will welcome him with open arms.

Hollingsworth does good work at 247. He's not nearly as in tune with the program as Ben Love is, but 247's basketball coverage is getting better.
Completely agree. Hollingsworth does a good job, especially for a high school senior.

So how long does a response from the university usually take on this type of release request?
Is it basically protocol that he will be granted a full release?
I'm worried it will be " granted except for an SEC team"

Shouldn't take more than a couple days. When a head coach is fired and the player has been on the team the protocol is to release with exception being conference foe. When a player has not been on campus, the protocol is to grant full release.
I would be shocked if he wasn't allowed to stay in the SEC.

I'm sure the Monteverde community would not appreciate it if they put restrictions on him, which would hurt them recruiting a powerhouse.

Is it weird to have an erection after reading the news?

This is what will end up saving the full release IMO. If he was CA, then no way in hell knowing he was very interested in a conference foe. I would suspect we will be the early favorite to land him, at worst top two, so Florida is basically having to release him to a team they are going to get drummed by next season.
