Any of yall have one or shot one?
Just bought one of Gunbroker, super impulse buy but seemed like a good deal and I've heard good things about Bushmaster.
$650 - comes with the case and 4 mags. Guy said its practically mint and only shot 50 round through it.

If you aren't planning on putting 1000s of rounds through it each month it should serve you just fine.
It should shoot just like any AR. The main difference you'll see in a lower-tier AR is the gritty trigger. Besides that it should feel the same.

You couldn't find a local deal?

I have a Rock River Elite Comp which has a great trigger, but its just a little on the heavy side.
Really just wanted a lightweight AR

Not a fan of 16" with carbine gas systems. Would still shoot the shite out of it though.

My first AR was a Bushmaster. Since then I've put thousands of rounds through it with no problems. The only thing I see wearing out is the buffer.

So turns out the guy I bought it from had no idea what he was talking about. The gun is acctually is a M4A3 with a removable carry handle/sight, not a M4A2 (with a fixed handle).
He also listed it as the patromal, which it is not. It looked strange in the picture compared to other I saw online. When I got it I noticed the flash suppressor was different than others I had seen.
After further research when I recieved it, turns out it is actually a Bushmaster M4A3 Commando. Item #90262. It has a 11.5" barrel with a permanently attached 5.5" flash suppressor. Because of this the barrel is exactly 16" rather than 16" plus whatever the length of the flash suppressor is. (while its nicer to have a shorter gun, I'm not sold that this is a good thing since it will decrease the range but we shall see)
Most of the similar ones online have been around $900

Granted it is used, however shows no marks of wear and the guy claimed he put less than 50 rounds for it. But after paying $650 with 4 mags and a case looks like I ended up alright

Good Deal!! Just traded my AR on a SBEII. Had an extra and threw it on LASM.

take the carry handle off and stick it in a drawer
you'll now have a flat-top receiver ready for an optic, or add an MBUS rear sight to use irons

I have a Rock River which is a very smooth shooter and currently has an Eotech. I'm thinking of taking the eotech off that to put on this Bushy, then put an actual scope on the RRA
But ill be honest I love the look of the old school m4/m16 handle

out of curiosity how is the flash hider attached?
is it pinned?
could you take it off and SBR the rifle?

I was thinking the same thing. I believe it is pinned which i'm not sure would be very easy to remove
May take it to the gun smith one of these days and see what they say.

Going hog hunting? Or for just home defense?

Has to be or else the op is in some serious doodoo.

Of course, the barrel will more than likely need to be cut back and threaded as those threads are probably toast. I'd send it to someone like adco.

Don't screw with the muzzle brake. The gun goes NFA and will land you in a world of shite.

he'd have to get a stamp first obviously
I assume that goes without saying

More just for fun than anything. 12 gauge with 00 buck will always be my home defense weapon.

If you're trying to get as short as possible while also being as effective as it can, I would go with a 14.5 with a pinned flash hider. The extra few inches of barrel will give you more velocity rather than wasting all that with a huge flash hider. Then again, for me, the extra 1.5" with getting a 16" isn't a big deal since it gives me the ability to change the muzzle device later. I like the flexibility but it's really personal preference.
That's a smart idea with your Rock River rifle. Those are said to have some extremely accurate barrels.

Nice gun OP. I'm jelly
I was gonna start a thread but I'll hijack this one. I want one for carrying in the woods that's light to shoot hogs with. I've walked up on 5+ hogs the past 3 times I've gone in the woods with only a pistol on my side. Would be nice to drop a few but have something light enough I won't get tired of packing it.
Any suggestions for around $600? I wanna save as much money on the rifle as possible to put better optics on it. TIA
