The LSU Law school used to have a coffee vending machine downstairs. For a quarter it would drop some sort of freeze-dried mix into a cup, and shoot some hot water in it. anybody could go in and get some for a quarter.

What makes you say this? Honest question.

I just don't see how you would need more than 2 cups on a regular basis unless you were often hungover or a chainsmoker, those are the people I have seen chugging coffee the most. Of course if you have a life event like a new baby I get it but it's not normal to chug coffee all day.

Seems like coffee would just make you more dehydrated thus giving you a bigger headache than you already have when you're hungover.

Without more, yes, coffee is terrible for hangovers. Coffee has caffeine which can alleviate a headache and provide energy. Better wash it down with plenty of water though, because coffee when your hungover gives you cotton mouth like a muhfricka.

One is too many; 100 is not enough.

First, Community is serviceable. Nothing more. Second, just drink lots of water along with coffee. I try to go 4:1 water:coffee. I stop coffee if feeling too jittery. Roughly 32 oz a day of pretty strong pour over. Medium and light roasts typically pack more punch than dark/French. So I'm def feeling it by noon. Try not to drink much afternoon.

Coffee

If you're a regular coffee drinker, skipping the java when you're hung over may -- or may not be -- a good idea, Brick says. You may wind up layering a pounding caffeine-withdrawal headache on top of your hangover woes if you miss your morning fix.

That said, caffeine narrows your blood vessels and boosts blood pressure. "Both of these may make the hangover worse," Brick says. "If you drink coffee regularly, you might try a very small amount in the morning. Wait 30 to 60 minutes and see how you feel."
