Looks like he's punishing the ball.
Saw some guy swinging up and at the ball the other day at a scramble. I wanted to take him aside and ask if he understood punching through a target. Like punching to the back of a chump's face. Not at it.

I've gone to a stock fade/straight ball off the tee with driver. I can hit a draw with it when the hole demands it but if I have a wide open fairway and especially a tighter fairway I'm lining up straight on the ball, then slightly open stance...hammer it and follow through right down the line. consistently produces 5-10 yard fade and loses minimal distance over a draw, but gain way more consistency. I hit 12-14 fairways last week with mostly this off the tee.

I have g20 irons and i love them. But need a new set of wedges that are equally as forgiving. Any suggestions?

I've got vokeys. People don't like them, but they're pretty good wedges.
Good weight. Look good at address.

That stuck motion has a lot to do with the backswing. Get the club more in front of you and you then give your self room to swing and the cast and early extension goes away

yes indeed. I changed the way I hit the fade/cut so it doesn't mess with my swing when I try to hit a draw...I used to open the face and come deliberately over the top..I eventually couldn't get the face closed on any club after that...now I use same grip and take away, just open left foot after address. makes a big difference.

That's the sort of thing they let those sassy honor guardsmen get away with.

If you are greenside and further up to about 20 yards:
-set your weight forward
-keep your lower body relatively quiet
-short backswing and be aggressive.
Try to keep the club moving forward at the same speed and regulate the length of your shot by the length of the backswing.
I saw this on the golf channel lesson and it is paying off. The main thing is don't decelerate while doing this.
