I have to admit though, I would've absolutely broke shite if he gave him mercy. I was afraid there for a second.

the hesitation was a nice touch.

I haven't read the books but got tagged as a reader a couple of years ago. This episode while it set up a lot of stuff was kind of slow.

Agreed. Nice clean chop though...

Wonder if we'll actually get to see Stannis vs. the Boltons this season, before we do in the books.

I immediately went back to when Ned beheaded the man in the first episode. Someone said "you understand why it had to be done" or something along those line.

Ned. "The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword". Makes Joffrey look like such a pussy.

Just finished the episode. Was very pleased with it ending with Jorah kidnapping Tyrion and glad that they kept the Dany lookalike at the brothel from the books .
As for the Sansa Ramsey deal...we'll see. I'm very curious to see where it leads. I just don't want to see Sansa get raped or tortured.
Oh and Janos ...and the High Sparrow.
Definitely a high content episode and had zero dull moments. But then again Dany wasn't in this episode .

I think that psycho GF of Ramsey is up to no good.

The idea of Sansa controlling the most psychotic sadist in the series is laughable.

One thing I am disappointed in as a non reader is why they introduced the White Walkers so soon with a couple of episodes and then drop them from the story. I know the must play a big role later but they aren't dormant and they came after Sam, what are the doing if they are not attacking the free folk or the wall?

Where's Korin to finally complain about the Sansa arc?

This is one of the drawbacks to rushing through Bran's arc last season and not having him in it at all this season. The white walker side of things is kind of left out because of that.
Based on images released before the season it looks like we may get a storyline from the books that was told off screen that will involve them.

The one alteration from the books that really bothers me. Bran is a MAJOR player in the end game.
We did see our first glimpse of Mountain Zombie..

Glancing through the Hodor thread I see that a few already know about that.
How is that possible? On my first read it took a while for me to catch on iirc. How do they see a body twitch under a sheet with Qyburn and know its the Mountain?
Posted on 4/27/15 at 1:34 am to Cockopotamus
My Hodor friends knew. One said it was because the size of the body.

Yep, pretty big "corpse" under that sheet.

Tell your Hodor friend I call BS on his Hodor status.
There is no allusion of that being the Mountain at all. Maybe if there was another body beside him for comparison then I could buy the "he was so big" argument, but presented the way it was any "Hodor" that says thats the Mountain is more informed than he is letting on

True. Last we saw of him he was squashing Oberyn's head like a watermelon. There was zero clue that he was poisoned in the show.

That was definitely Gregor under the sheets. Can't believe people are questioning that.
