Food/Beer in or near Zachary?

Will be staying in Zachary for a couple days. Is there a pubish place with some taps and bar food? I think BMoney and I had a beer after a golf round years ago, but my memory is foggy. Coming from Ellic, so we will not be hard to please.

Sammy's probably your best bet.

Oh wow. Did not know there was one there. Thanks.

There are a couple other restaurants in that same shopping center. A Mexican joint and another place that I can't think of right now that are not bad either...

Yeah, I think we ate at Sammy's then. There's a newer/bigger one there now.
They should have plenty of Bud Light for you.

I've tried to broaden his palate.
Sammy's is OK, and I think i found a decent beer there.
Cafe Phoenecia is pretty good, for greek/lebanese food.
I had a good plate lunch at Martha's Bistro once, but I don't think they have beer.

Sammy's probably is your best bet. The bar is comfortable, but they're packed at lunch and dinner. If you're golfing at Copper Mill, the Palmetto Grill was good the last time I was there, good gumbo, although it's been a while. I definitely second Cafe Phoenicia. Service isn't always top notch, but the food is good, try the Grecian Egg Rolls appetizer.
Cabo's Grill in the Sammy's shopping center and El Agave over next to Walmart aren't gonna blow your mind, but they're decent Mexican options, service is good, and great lunch specials.
The other restaurant in Sammy's center is Francois Cafe and Grill. Great food but I avoid it like the plague because the owner is a jerk. And if you're looking for really low key, Jett's on the north side of 64 at 964 has great meat-and-3s, and I'm pretty sure they'll have Bud Light in the cooler.
