So...me being a dumb yank transplant, I have very limited experience in the art of frogging.

Last weekend we were having a fish fry and someone brought a mess of frog legs, and they turned out fantastic. I've decided to try my luck, but I don't know where to begin. As of right now, my best source of guidance is the Duck Dynasty episode about frogging.

So whatcha got baws?

ETA: I'm pretty confident in the advise I'll receive here. A year ago I knew jack and shite about running trot lines and now I've got a freezer full of catfish.

Shine your light in his eyes so he can't see shite and grab him.

Nothing else to say really.

Get a Qbeam and start trying. Sloped banks are usually better than steep. Season is closed until June the 1st.

Creep through canals with Q-Beam until you spot one.
Pull up to it
Grab it
Stick it in a sack

Most golf courses are target rich for frogs at night. Nothing like the thrill of catching frogs with the added element of going to jail for trespassing. Just watch out for the rodent killers.

You'll need a bright light and at least one hand. A boat also helps.

So no one here uses one of those frogging nets?

I haven't been frogging in years but I have been told that they are game changers especially when in heavy brush areas.

As others suggested shine light in their eyes to blind them and creep up on them catching it with your hands. IMO, halogen headlamps works better than the LED lights. The frogs I've caught usually has a blue tint in their eyes and white belly when the light is shine at them.
