Just got home from the game. We just have to get those WRs the ball. Open up the running game Fournette will tear it up

You'll see when you watch. The first team dominated both sides of the ball. Even with a kid that should be in high school at QB, the White team rolled. Both QBs looked bad when they played with Purple. You really can't draw anything from the day because the coaches absolutely stacked the White.
That's every spring game though. It's not really supposed to be a competitive game.
Still an improvement from a year in which we would struggle against air

The bad thing about the game is in the ckub they had the South Carolina baseball game on. Seriously? No one could figure out how to get the LSU game?

Yeah, you definitely haven't seen the game yet. 3 of the scores and another huge play were basically against air. really bad blown coverage. White D looked great though.

I've seen the blown coverages TDs. We still fricked those plays up last year.
This is an improvement. I'm not saying were world beaters but damn just be happy a little bit

Chi needs touches. Sweeps, passes, idc. But the kid needs the ball in his hands.

Oh I'm ecstatic. Both lines looked great, the 1st team defense was dominant, both QBs showed improvement. Just saying the passing has to be taken with a grain of salt because the coverage was really bad by Purple.

How many plays did we run, seems passing yardage is about as bad as ever. 400 or so yards in a game isn't especially prolific. And if you aren't playing against Gage you gotta take about 150 off the board

What was attendance like? Stands looked empty.

LSU hardly promotes it at all.

That is a big time arm
Much concern about what sits in between and on top of his shoulders though.
"Improved" doesn't mean "Good." You can be labeled "Improved" if you go from "Very Bad" to just "Bad."
Is either one of the "Improved" LSU QB's good enough to help the Tigers win the SEC West at minimum?

Spring Games are always hard to get a lot from. The best you can get is a look at individual development in technique and intangibles. I remember going in 2011 hoping to see improvement in JJ's footwork and technique. Instead, he looked worse than ever, and I could tell all the development coach-speak was BS.
As for both Harris and Jennings, they both look to have improved from last year. They both still have their weaknesses, but they seem to be moving in the right direction. It's also good to see that the offense is continuing to evolve to better suit their skills. That and the development of the WRs (which looks to be even better) can help the coaches work around the weaknesses they both have.
As for the concern over the weakness of the Purple team, don't lose sleep over that. These games are stacked on purpose. The coaches want film of the starters executing their stuff against what is basically a scout team or practice squad. That, and give the 1s confidence heading out of Spring ball. Yesterday accomplished that.
If you look up and down the Purple roster, it isn't completely devoid of talent. However, there isn't much meaningful game experience there. There are probably fewer than 10 players who have significant game minutes, especially in SEC play. Combing that with high levels of inexperience on both the lines, and the fact that the D is learning an at least somewhat different scheme right now, and this was never going to be a test for the White team.
The people raising their eyebrows need to remember that these reserves don't get subbed in en mass like this unless we are pounding someone late in the 2nd half. The guys on the Purple squad who are good enough to get reps this coming season will be rotating in alongside the talent we saw on the White squad, where they will have an opportunity to perform better than what you saw yesterday.
