Well Paul never met Jesus and pretty much made it all up as he went so who knows, Paul might've still spread a religion even without jesus
had Paul been making it all up about Jesus, he would have never got his mission off the ground. It's not like he came along hundreds of years or a long way from Jesus. He started off in the same region as Jesus at a time when people from Jesus's own time were still alive. People would have called him out as a liar or crazy man if he had been making things up that they knew were not true because they were there themselves.

the vast majority of people in that era did call him a liar and/or a crazy person
if people are arguing the "christianity" angle, then your choice has to be Constantine
if people are arguing creators of religion, then the most influential is the guy who invented (or collected regional works into one) hinduism. that led to buddhism, confucianism, taoism, janism, etc

Also, I am not arguing Jesus. As I said, he was the foundation, but Paul built Christianity.
John was certainly every bit as impactful.
George became also as influential in the final two or three years.
Paul has had the benefit of being able to outlive them. History can be written or massaged by the survivors.

I know there were some who called him a lair and crazy but there were plenty more who didn't. The whole point is there's no way he was making it all up. He was literally in the same time and place as Jesus. Considering the very public nature of what all happened just the last week of his life, not to mention the numerous times Jesus spoke to hundreds or even thousands, means had none of that happened and Paul just made it up, people would remember.

well there is some historical record of the figure of jesus possibly being real, but that doesn't mean the stories in the gospel are real. there is not very much evidence of this occurring.
and it would be VERY easy in antiquity for people living even 20-30 miles away to know nothing of jesus until john or paul showed up in their town. these people were likely illiterate, didn't speak latin, possibly only spoke a regional dialect, spent most of their day working in rural seclusion, never left the area they were born, etc.
i mean to bring ghengis back up again, he was around in like the 13th century. he went all sorts of places close to his nomadic roaming area where the people had no idea who he was, and he had already destroyed other hoards. it took a long time for word to get out who he was, and he had a lot more direct impact with a lot more evidence than jesus. and he was doing it almost 1300 years after jeuss's time.

But while Genghis is just a historic figure, Jesus still impacts the lives of roughly 30% of the worlds population today. And he did this by traveling less the 50 miles from where he was born and was only in the public like 4 years or so. And he did this over 1000 years befor Genghis and is still doing it 2000 years later. No other man that has ever lived can say this.

But yet every day people give thanks to Jesus. Your statement is wrong! Does people give thanks to ghengis or even think of him today even close to Jesus?

THAT is thanks to Constantine, not Jesus. if Constantine had chosen another religion to spread, we'd see that religion at those rates
and Ghengis connected Asia and Europe. his impact still lasts today, especially in the middle east and Med

1 in 200 men living today are direct descendants of Ghengis, sir.

buddha was a derriviative of the mind-body spirituality of hinduism. hinduism is a lot more impactful in terms of religion than christianity, both historical and today.

There are a lot of khans in paki and Afghanistan

I was merely pointing out two individuals who had a similar influence as Jesus. Hinduism has no central figure like Christianity or Buddhism or Islam.

I thought Krishna was their central being

The thing I don't get about arguing that Genghis Khan being the biggest influence on history is this. They base their assumption on the fact he conquered a huge empire, the biggest in history but one that also was relegated to the history books centuries ago. But if this is your benchmark, creating a huge empire, then he is a poor choice. A better choice would be the founder of Communism, Karl Marx. The system he founded has conquered more territory and controlled far more people than the Khans ever dreamed of doing. Here is a map of all the countries that are now, or once were controlled by Communists...
So even by their own criteria, the Khan falls short.

Not in the same kind of way. Also, Krishna supposedly has many human avatars, but there was no single human that you could point to.
