I would say that it is in LSU’s favor the Mailk Newman does not take any official visits. It’s becoming more and more apparent that Newman will be attending LSU next year given LSU’s current rooster, he will be given every opportunity to secure the PG position for next year and I surmise that he will be successful. Hence, Newman has made commits to the press that “LSU feels like home.” Along with the school’s close proximity of both of his parents who can attend his games. Moreover, Mailk was born in Louisiana and his mother, LaKeysha Newman still resides within the state. Secondly, Malik has visit LSU once in his junior season and again for the LSU vs Kentucky basketball game this year. Thirdly, He selects LSU based on his close relationship with Johnny O’Brien. Johnny has often been compared as a big brother type to him. Johnny maintains a close relationship to the family and I am sure, that he will advise the family regarding the atmosphere at LSU. It is my understanding that Mailk nor his family have ever visited Lexington. Given his close relationship with his father, I doubt that he would allow his son to play at a school he’s never visited. The decision appears to be made that Mailk will commit to the school that he has already visited twice which is LSU. It is the only logical choice. In summation, it is close to home. His parents can watch him play and the completion to play is far less completive than Kentucky. And lastly, don’t underestimate Antonio Blakeney comment in the advocate and his interaction with LSU prospects Blakenly and Simons. They appear to be one united front who already know that his commitment to LSU is pending. Check out this recent comments taken during the McDonald’s All-American festivities “What about LSU, they’ve been on you hard lately. What do you like about them? Just the fact that they have Ben and Blakeney coming. Those guys really want me there. LSU kind of feels like home because it’s so close to my mom. It’s only like an hour and a half away. It just benefits a lot.” In conclusion, I ask, why would he not take his official visits? My response, he has already his, unofficially at LSU twice.

Is this the Irish white guy that's been seen at his games?

There is this great invention they have on the keyboard called the "Enter" key. What it does is makes longer paragraphs shorter by spacing them out.
Give it a try sometime

I didn't read because that's a novel but I bookmarked like you asked

That's a pretty bad block of reading. Though you do bring up some good points, I don't think anyone should "book it".

I agree with your points, but it's uncomfortably presumptuous.
I'm hoping that the fact that Kentucky didn't win it all despite having such a strong roster takes his opinion of them down a few notches. It isn't a discredit to them or Cal, but I hope the takeaway is that their historied reputation doesn't guarantee anything other than more media coverage and that he, Blakeney, and Simmons could be a trio that draws as much coverage and, hopefully, as much success as this year's Kentucky.

I've been getting a gut feeling that we'll sign Newman for a few weeks now, although my gut tells me it's more between us and MSU than it is us and UK. Puppies fans seem to have the same confidence about Newman that they had in the week leading up to NSD in regards to Leo Lewis.
Hope he signs with LSU, and I really hope they're just babbling and they don't really know $omething that we don't...

What do you think of the new potential hire of John Treloar? Hell of a resume.

@LilJoeBHall: CBS's @JonRothstein says it's down to Kentucky vs Mississippi State for Malik Newman, with LSU a distant 3rd LINK
3. Malik Newman is the wild card in the Class of 2015: The 6-3 combo guard scores 18-20 points when he gets out of bed in the morning and his commitment will no doubt shift the landscape of college basketball in one way or another heading into next season. Sources have told CBSSports.com that the three schools most likely to wind up with Newman are Kentucky, Mississippi State and LSU, but the Tigers right now are a distant third due to a surplus of pieces on the perimeter. That means that barring something unlikely, Newman appears to either be headed to Lexington or Starkville. It also means he will potentially play for one of two coaches who faced each other in the 2008 Final Four --- John Calipari and Ben Howland --- when each was at Memphis and UCLA respectively. If Newman picks the Wildcats, the reasons are obvious. Lexington has again become college basketball's version of Camelot under Calipari and the pairing of Newman alongside Tyler Ulis and incoming freshman Isaiah Briscoe would instantly give Kentucky one of college basketball's most devastating perimeters. Calipari has publicly said that he still needs to add two to three quality players this spring and the addition of Newman would certainly put some serious air in the Wildcats' tires heading into next season. One thing to keep in mind though: Newman has also told confidants that he aspires to have the ball in his hands next season as much as possible and he would have to sacrifice that just like other great players have in the past if he chooses to go to Kentucky. If he opts to go to Mississippi State, he would own Starkville and give the Bulldogs a palpable buzz in Howland's first season as a head coach in the SEC. It's going to be real interesting to see how all of this evolves over the next few weeks.
