Spin off - Sushi recs in Baton Rouge

Strange timing given the other thread, I have someone coming in town tomorrow who wants to eat sushi. I haven't gone for it in Baton Rouge before so I am looking for a recommendation. I promise to rub my chopsticks together vigorously, or not, if FDB will grace me with some ideas.

The only legit answer is Sushi Yama if they know and like quality raw fish.

There have been a lot of threads on this topic. Most people say Yama and Ichiban. This board is how I found the greatness that is Yama.
Isn't cheap though.

I figured it had been covered but, if I searched, I wouldn't have gotten to pull the stick rubbing comment. Gotta rub my sticks.

Have had most of these, but showing the pictures is a lot more helpful to people if you post the rolls name as well

The last one is the Little Rice Roll, which is in my opinion the best roll at Sushi Yama. So delicious.
What makes Yama unique are the things they offer that other places don't--many of which are these special rolls with mostly raw fish which are ~$20/per roll.

Is that Sushi Yama? You've posted those pics before and they all look fantastic, especially the nigiri platter.

Yes, that's Yama. Drew Orleans has posted some photos from there, one being the gorgeous Monroe Roll, but TD changed their old posts to only have links in the place of photos and it isn't working when I search :(

Yea I pull them from their facebook page and post them to make people hungry.

It works. I called Jones on my way home from work and said, "Man, I wish we didn't have 8 meals worth of leftovers because I want sushi" after seeing your photos

How can you possibly appreciate the taste of a fish if a roll has three different kinds in the same one?

Ya got me there, but I wasn't gonna post that it all looks great EXCEPT for the ones with three different fish crammed in them. Someone mentioned that I've sounded jaded lately, so I'm trying to lighten up.

2 pc Sake
Another Kampachi
