I didn't show my work because I picked the only date that was on there once. I did just look it over again and noticed June 18th, I'm still sticking with my first answer though.

At first Bernard doesn't know. Cheryl told him the Month and there are multiple days for each month.
Then Bernard does know. She told him the day. There is only one 18th.

Leaves only July 14/16 Aug 14/15/17
2- Bernard knows the date # which allows him to narrow it down. Eliminates July/Aug 14
3- In order for Albert to know the answer, it cannot be the month of Aug as Albert could not distinguish between Aug 15/17 for Bernard. The only way Albert could also know is if it was July 16

I think it's safe to eliminate the single dates (18 and 19) because Bernard would immediately know her birthday based on the list but he explicitly states he didn't know at first.
So the date will be the 14th, 15th, 16th, or 17th. Working on the month.

I just saw that it's the 17th after posting that. Now that I see the solution posted it definitely makes sense. I don't normally get tripped up by problems like this but I did this time.

hell they even go into convoluted explanation of who was told month and who was told day when the original sentence tells you " A and B were told month and day respectfully"

The answer is June 17th. Bernard would immediately know if it was June 18th or May 19th since those are the only days that are listed once. The only possible date it could be for Bernard to now know the date is June the 17th. (I think)
