After watching last night's episode, i hope GoT doesn't go for 10 seasons

Game of Thrones is my favorite show of all time. However, there was something subpar about last night's episode. I consider it the worst episode so far(this coming from a person who's rewatched earlier seasons multiple times). I thought the episode was all over the place. It felt like a episode filler and I hope this isn't an indication of the direction of the show.
But thinking about how this show can go 10 seasons is too long. I initially thought 8 would be right number, but think 7 would be perfect. Most of the great shows never need 10 seasons and I think 10 seasons of GoT is "milking" it.

I don't know about that. Find whatever episode Dany has the most screen time in and that's probably my least favorite.

It was a set up episode. There have been numerous just like this one.
It was just players moving into position in order to create and live out events.

Dude it was a setup episode.. What did you expect?

It wasn't a "knock your socks off" episode by any stretch, but it was "all over the map" because those that did not binge the last season right before may well have forgotten, or were fuzzy on, "where we left off." This brought us all back to that point (perhaps a few weeks later), and next week looks like it will be ramping back up to full speed.
I wanted more, but I was not crestfallen with what I got.

Yeah, but the "set up" episodes for Season 1,2,3,4 blew this one out of the water.

I wouldn't call it the worst episode ever, if not solely for the Jon Snow arc in that episode, but I'd definitely say it is the worst of the premieres.

It's not an episodic tv drama, there's a large story to tell, you must lay the ground work for stuff to make sense
People like you don't deserve GOTs

It was the first fricking episode. As someone who's watched the leaks, it gets better.

We are not talking about who deserves this or that. We are talking GoT 7 seasons vs 10 seasons. That's the thread title.
It doesn't matter what you feel What I derserve. It's irrelevant.

Thanks, that's encouraging. But do you think it should go 7 or 10 seasons?

Did you get adware on your computer for downloading at torrent?

You need the instant gratification in every episode, which is why you don't deserve it and why 10 seasons is better than 7
It's relevant

Why are you trying to make this determination after 1 episode?

No because I know what I'm doing

Yeah, I read the books twice and your excuse is my "instant gratification"?

The worst episode by far?
The book only really depicts 2 or 3 major battles. Like the show they usually show the immediate aftermath, and it's about the political manuevering. Like every episode in the series you see the great acting, the great production values, the effort and care behind it all. Besides the recasting of some characters (that were for the better specifically Daario) it has so far been a flawless series
The first episode was $10 million. That's unprecedented in television. And while money doesn't ensure quality, you can see they spend their money well.
Last night was awesome
