Oh so you're one of those people that blame the waiter if your steak isn't cooked properly at a restaurant
Interesting that they reap the reward and are immune to the responsibility at the same time

AlawYs. 1 dollar usually. I never heard of people not tipping at sonic till this thread. Wow yall some cheap asses

If I have a one dollar bill, sure. I usually don't tho.

I tipped the other day and the guy was shocked. It was a normal size tip. I do not think many people tip them. I am quite certain they make minimum wage without the tips.

I always try to give the girl a $1
What I can't stand is counter service people wanting tips. They do nothing but stand at the cash register. A tip is for service. I have to take my tray of food, go to an island and get my own ketchup napkins ect. then bus my own table when I'm done.

i tip them a dollar and whatever change i'm due from the order. whether it's a penny, or ninety-nine cents. hell all they do is bring it out to you.

Do those of you that tip at Sonic also tip at Carl's Jr? I've also had my food walked over to me at Wendy's. Should I tip? What about when they have you pull ahead at McDonald's and walk the food to you? Is that a tip? What's different about Sonic? Most of them don't even skate anymore.

Of course I do.
OK, I agree that tipping is OOC . It looks like the no tippers are equating Sonic w/ typical fast food. I don't tip at Mcdonalds, either. The difference at Sonic is that someone brings me my food, akin to a waiter, IMO..
Thus, I tip.

I tip at sonic. But I also tip at McDonald's when they make me pull up and wait then bring the food out.

Technically the McDonald's people bring you your food too. They are just more efficient about it

I always do. Don't go there often, but only go if I have spare cash to tip with. Usually tip $2-3 (depends on what I get though...obviously not that much if I'm just getting a drink there on my way to work).

I tip but if I see the delivery person try to not give me salsa for my super sonic breakfast burritos until they see if I tip I won't tip anything, but if they do thier job I'll tip accordingly.
I've have had this suspicion before as well

People will say no to the first question because they had to wait longer but waits at Sonic are always long as shite.

Thank you
Sonics service is pretty bad outside of the usual friendly people
My order gets messed up a ton and it take an hour

Yep. So far the only reason that's been given to tip at Sonic is 'they're good kids'.
I hope these guys are tipping at Chick-fil-a. Those kids are even nicer.

That's because the system they have in place is shite. The carhops have to make drinks, slushies, and all ice cream items--which keeps them from running food during busy times.

But the other places don't even have carhops. The person running you your food is also cooking, running a register, or making drinks. Why is Sonic, alone among fast food, deserving of a tip?
