I just had a terrible thought. What if they make Bighead the CEO of PP, and they remain mired in ineptness. That would suck.

Maybe they're setting Bighead up to be the CEO of Hooli.

Richard, Erlich, and Monica know he is terrible.

I think if that were the case, Bighead would freely admit that he shouldn't be CEO, and would basically allow Richard to continue to run PP.

I don't think Richard was that bad of a CEO either. Almost all of the crap that happened to PP this season was out of his control / not his doing.

Erlich insisted on being douchebags to all the VCs, the Homicide CEO refused to work with PP (also add in Dinesh and Gilfoyle SWOTing Blaine), Dinesh and Gilfoyle gave away the full algorithm to EndFrame, and Russ single-handedly fricked up the Insight deal.

I wonder if they are going to go towards Big Head actually believing he is incredible because of the guru guy. Or if he will remain the guy that is just happy to be making insane amounts of money for no reason.

I don't think that will happen or at least I pray it won't

I strongly believe gavin belson will be the next PP CEO

Because Richard is spineless and not a good leader.

I concur. it sucks for Richard but it's the right move to remove him as CEO

Well, yeah.

I'm just saying, in the context of the show, everyone in Silicon Valley (save Erlich and maybe Gavin) are spineless cowards. It's all about how these socially awkward nerds are becoming billionaires. In that regard, Richard has stood up to people trying to screw him over on numerous occasions. He's just had shitty luck.

I think they've pointed to this just to not do it. Honestly next season has to be about winning. Putting a hated rival in charge of the company will not make fans happy. It will have too many negative consequences.

Personally I think they have forced everyone to think about Gavin but I don't think they will do it. They will surprise everyone with whoever it ends up being. This show has basically been, if anything, unpredictable. Hiring Gavin would be too predictable.

I disagree. He has learned to stand up for himself. Awkwardly sure, but he has.

He stood his ground on telling the truth. He stood his ground when the energy drink tried to cut them out. He stood up to Erlich on many occasions. He has been standing up for Pied Piper for a season now.

I think that's exactly what they were setting up. Its going to be hilarious when he's the CEO and looked at as some leader in the tech world. He's literally failing upwards by doing nothing while Richard has worked his tail off and is now out of a job.

Pretty funny when you think of it that way.

I didn't mind the ending. Deleting all their files, or ending with a cliffhanger of whether or not they deleted them, would have pissed me off, but Richard is a lousy CEO. And he is still majority shareholder right (or at least he and Erlich combined)? So, could presumably vote in a new board.

They should fire their lawyer, but in reality, the board probably couldn't have held a meeting without them, and Russ probably couldn't even have sold his shares without approval. This suspension of disbelief doesn't bother me, b/c the company is better of with a legit CEO.

My guess is Gaving gets ousted from Hooli and becomes Pied Piper CEO. Regardless, I liked this season better than season 1 (despite the epic season 1 finale), although Peter Gregory's replacement is a big swing and a miss for me.

Erlich's doorway rant was great.

Monica as PP CEO would fit nicely with the storyline

Puts her in the middle of the raviga vs PP camps and makes her the swing vote

That would set up the Richard and Monica relationship storyline that was hinted at earlier

Bighead as Hooli CEO would be hilarious, no doubt his first move would have to be to strike a deal with Richard. Perhaps that is how Richard regains power, Hooli CEO bighead tells raviga "no Richard, no deal"

Could be one way sexual tension storyline

Could be a very awkward sexual tension storyline

Could be a "will they or won't they?" Storyline

Could be an outright Monica and Richard in a relationship and building PP storyline

Monica/Richard relationship storyline could go in a lot of different ways
