A lowered dually? Why spend that money that can't haul what a 1/2 ton will.
Stupid

I really liked my old Wrangler that had 35's and all the offroad fixin's. My dad couldn't understand it, he'd always give me some snide comment like, "Been using that thing lately to rock-crawl across the mountains of South Mississippi?"
I think he was just jelly.

I want to drive a vehicle that gets 50 MPG but I will perish in in a moderate speed accident.
Those SMART cars have a great passenger compartment. Very safe for their size.

it's a 100k+ waste of money sitting there and maybe moves 2-3 wks a year. Your argument is completely irrelevant

The crazy thing is some guys turn around and dump another $20-30k in them.
Some of the duner/sand/race built ones I absolutely love. Turbo kits, roll cages, long travel suspension, etc etc.
On the opposite spectrum the mud-built one's make me cringe/lol at the same time. Nothing like taking something built for speed/handling, clipping it's legs, and making it useless.
Example: That's a set of billet Forgiato wheels....on a RZR. $5000+ wheels on a RZR.
22" Billet American Force wheels, again $5k+

Yeah... I see...

I have been driving trucks/SUVs for 11 years now and quite literally not needed 4WD one time. Not everybody hunts and not everybody drives around in the middle of a snowstorm.

You do not want to be in one during an accident.

How many cars are going to do well in that kind of collision? Unless you happen to have the details of how fast the red truck was going, that pic doesn't really say much.

True, but larger vehicles have lower occupant fatality rates. These are "city cars", would not put anyone I care about in one.
Tip of the day...
Lowest occupant fatality rate of any family vehicle on the road is a Toyota 4Runner... At least is was in 2013 when the latest research was released.

Two door Tahoes and Yukons were awesome. So much better looking than their 4 door counterparts.

One of my favorite vehicles of all time.
I would've given anything in high school and/or college to have one of those. I'd still love to have one as a weekend/hunting/puttering around ride.

My wife's cousin still has his from high school. Just turned 32. Drove it all through college, and then joined the military. Ended up buying a newer Silverado since he was living on base for a while, but left the old Tahoe at his parents house. He wouldn't sell it to me the one time I asked.
His parents also kept an older Suburban just to have something they can get dirty inside for hauling stuff.

This image startled the hell out of me so I found the original article using Tineye reverse image search.
I wonder if this would be survivable in any vehicle smaller than a Ford Excursion - if that.

According to information from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office and various readers, the accident pictured above took place in May 2009 in Harvey, Louisiana, and involved a Ford Escape SUV, not (as is commonly reported) the smaller Smart Car.

Some people need a pickup truck, not an off road vehicle that happens to have a bed. Not sure why it's so hard to understand.
