The price is obviously not going to increase to where was, so it was time to cash out
i still made some money since i invested in the beginning of 2013, but could have made more if i had gotten out early last year. (Thanks wikitiger )

I still don't know what a bitcoin is...

In short, a currency that's accepted in a fair number of places.
Longer, simplified/basic version- guy decided to create a currency that could be used anonymously. For it to have value, it had to be slowly released to keep value. There is a machine that creates ridiculously difficult equations. You have your computer (or a group of them) solve it, and it awards you a bitcoin. The equations get harder and the rewards smaller, making them more difficult to come by. They're an intrinsically worthless string of numbers given value by supply and demand for their total anonymity and lack of regulation.

So I solve a mathematical riddle...I make imaginary money?
Posted on 4/7/15 at 12:59 am to lsufan9193969700
Basically. But it's practically-to-literally impossible for a non-computer to solve an equation. Lots of big number crunching. The purpose of which I've never familiarized myself with.

I find it hilarious that they actually have a Bitcoin Bowl Game

Let the record show that from day one I said Bitcoin was a boondoggle.
Posted on 4/7/15 at 6:33 am to Darth_Vader
90% of the board said that

No, 90% of TD board remained silent. I remember Broke and LSU Russian were the two other main ones besides me calling Wiki and his handful of Bitcoin followers idiots.

I said it was a great concept but the traditional banking powers that be(and they are quite powerful) would undermine/sabotage/destroy bitcoin by any means necessary but most likely inconspicuously.

I know this won't be popular, but I think Scientology is a sketchy organization

I called it a pyramid scheme. Thats overly simplified but pretty much how it worked out.

there are 2 phases to bitcoin
1. the currency side, which is very intriguing and possibly the start of a game changer
2. the speculation-valuation side, which is where things got a bit crazy
