PTBob, I'm assuming that you're a pt. I've read that changing your footstrike actually can do more harm than damage. Thoughts?

(For the record, I was d/c from PT in February ... LOVED the guys that I worked with and was really much better than when I went in)

I've had the same problem in the past. I learned it's usually a result of overuse and/or weakness in the leg muscles causing undue pressure on the knee. The result can be tendonitis and inflammation of the underlying cartilage. If you google runner's knee, there are a bunch of articles recommending strengthening plans to help in the future.
