Does it piss you off that Europe is considered a separate continent?

Why did that happen? In my book, if Pluto can't be a planet then Europe can't be a continent.

You should therefore also be pissed that North America and South America are considered two continents.
They are both one big land mass sans the man made Panama Canal.

Incorrect. Panama has only existed for 3 million years. Before that, there was no connection between North and South America. The continents lie on different plates and they share nothing in common, geologically.

When scientists talk of 6 continents, its because they are combining Europe and Asia, not the Americas.

Yep. There really should be only 3 continents.

Americas
Eurafricasia
Antarctica

When you consider the size of each of those 3, Australia is just an island.

If you think about this enough to let it piss you off on a Sunday morning then you have too much time on your hands.

Not sure where this idea is coming from. There is a very good geological basis for the Americas being considered two continents. This is not the case for "Eurasia."

By that logic, isn't Antarctica also too small to qualify? It is only twice as big as Australia.

That's what happens when you don't go to church... you think about important stuff.
