re: ball under the fence...Should of been a rule double

Ball rolled under the padding and under a horizonal pipe..bottom the fence and became stuck...if the fielder would have tried for example to pull the ball out and he couldnt...the ball is going to stay alive because the fielder tried to play the ball...the fact that the field has a situation where a fielder has to play a lodged ball is ridiculous....

You continue to ignore the ground rules at Alex box. Give it up. Your troll isn't working like you think it is.

Cite the rule in the rulebook if it exists. It doesn't. The ground rules at Alex Box state clearly that any ball that rolls under the fence is a live ball and it's the outfielder's duty to retrieve it. Everyone agreed on the rule prior to the game. The space is too big for a ball to get lodged, so go troll somewhere else, douchebag.
Honestly, it was probably smart of the Kentucky outfielder to pull that shite sticking his arms up in the air. If he had fielded the ball, at least two runs definitely score and the game is probably over anyway, and Chinea might have made it home anyway. His only hope was to throw his arms in the air like a fricking goon and hope the umps sided with him, which they initially did like the fricking assholes they are, but then they got it right.

Ground rules....(The rule at this ball park is that if the ball is touching the ground it's in play.)
They don't agree to the ground rules, they accept them. You can't just throw your arms up and expect play to stop. What would have happened it the ball stopped half a foot before the wall?

I love how you combined the end zone rule in football with the ground rule double rule in baseball.
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Do you know the ground rules? Every field has different ones. The ball was lodged. Not necessarily beyond the line anyway
It's up to KY staff to adequately inform their kids to all ground rules as they are discussed before every fricking series. This was not the first time this shite happened. But was funny as frick to see that kid go 'time out guys!' and get his shite pushed in for it. No sympathy there.

.jus saying technically the ball wasnt live because it went beyond the field of play
This is where you are wrong. You are confusing padding infront of the fence with the fence it self. Exhibit A:
According to your thought process the "dead ball" area is an imaginary line extending from the furthermost point on the padding down to the ground - this is just wrong. That would make any ball that rolls up against the bottom of this fence out of play.
Also, many many parks have this type of padding and LSU is not the only one that considers it to be a live ball.

bottom the fence and became stuck
It didn't look very stuck when the out-of-shape middle-aged ump walked out there and pulled it right out.

The thing that pissed me off was the KU player being a "little bitch" and trying to pull some technical BS to cover a very poorly played ball. He actually benefited by the ball stopping instead of careening off in the opposite direction.

This.
And what gets me is that he didn't even try, not even a little bit, to get the ball. It wasn't like he lost sight of it: 10,000+ people could see it plain as day. The instant it stopped, with him 15 feet from it, he threw his hands up.
Having said that, MAYBE the kid made an honest mistake. Maybe he is accustomed to playing somewhere when the ball stops like that it is ruled dead. However, I've thought that you should ALWAYS play the ball first and let your coach argue the rules later. Had he done that then maybe he stops our guy at second.

According to the rules, they got it right.

The ball was under the padding which is not part of the fence for your definition for vertical line. The ball was also clearly visible. Under the field rules the ball was in play. If the padding had hid the ball it would have been a grounds rule double.

Let me get this straight. You're saying the umpires, who know the rules better than anyone and had time to stop and talk this out, made the correct call? And the OP, who is arguing the call more than Kentucky's head coach did, is wrong?
Is that right?

Doesn't a ball have to be OUTSIDE of a line to be out of play? Touching the line doesn't constitute out of play.
So saying it is wedged means it has not gone outside of the field of play, it's only touching that imaginary line.
BTW.....why the frick did we spends umpteen millkions on a park and end up with balls wedging under the fence?
This situation has come into play before
