This means Harris is kicking arse and will be the starter come fall. Don't you guys understand Miles-speak?
Unless this is a Miles verbal double head fake.

Sadly, no. His seat will get very warm but he's not going anywhere.

Spring game will tell me all I need to know about who has performed better on more days.

Do you really believe that we're going to have two capable QB's this fall? I've been as optimistic as any about this situation but this quote makes me sick. I always try to be level headed and not freak out but I'd legitimately bet $1000 dollars without hesitation on the fact that he pulls the same shite with Jennings as he did with JJ.
Is there anybody out there that genuinely feels like next season won't be a huge waste if Jennings starts?

I'm sure Jennings has improved just like Miles would claim Jefferson did every year.
That's a really scary things to think about cause JJ got worse each year.

I can agree with that but the criticism & reasoning is always poorly placed. I'm not going to get into a TL,DR explanation but the main points of emphasis as to what the problems have been are always off. Most have no clue what they are actually talking about & that's the biggest problem.

you don't have to know x's and o's to see that the QB position has been the main issue.
Posted on 3/28/15 at 3:21 pm to geauxaddai
It's well established that Miles wants the person who can run the mickey mouse offense the best as opposed to tailoring the offense to the players

Lol 20+ pages of trolling, Jennings bashing, Les bashing, Cam bashing, old school JJ vs JL debates, we're gonna suck offensively in 2015 & other Tiger Rant buffoonery.
Is it really buffoonery if all those things are true and justified?

Jennings said it is his team and it will be as he said.

The rest of the quote.
Other notes as well.
quote:
Jennings completed 9 of 14 passes, according to Les Miles, for 200 yards and two scores, with two additional touchdowns in red zone work. Brandon Harris completed "a handful” of his 22 attempts, which Miles later clarified as "10 or 12.”
"I’ve got big hands,” he joked.
Miles talked at length about his quarterbacks, giving as close to a definitive statement on the position as he has all spring.
"Anthony Jennings probably has performed better on more days,” Miles said, "and other days it’s been Brandon Harris.”
"It’s year two,” he added. "We expect more out of them and expect them to not only execute the offense, but to also give us experience at the play caller and understand where we want to go and what we’re supposed to do. It’s heighted expectation.”
Setting a goal of completing 70 percent of the team’s passes, Miles noted that while Jennings has had the edge on more days, he’s not seeing enough separation between the two for his liking.
"I already know they’re better than they were last year,” he said. "To find a real quality quarterback and to have separation from one to the other, that’s what I’m looking for. I’m not necessarily seeing that.”
Other notes as well.
quote:
Miles said about half the scrimmage was spent inside the 20s working on tight zone situations. There was also some kickoff, kickoff return, and punt work.
Maquedius Bain is an early lock to start at defensive end. Miles named Lewis Neal as the likely second starter, with Clark and Teuhema in the mix, as well.
Duke Riley led all tacklers, though Miles didn't give a number. Tied for second were Jamal Adams, Jones, and Teuhema, all with six stops. Miles added that "Kendell Beckwith made some real significant speed plays defending the pass and getting to runs."
At the defensive tackle spot, Miles said Davon Godchaux and Christian LaCouture are entrenched as starters. Greg Gilmore is the early favorite as the No. 3 DT, with Frank Herron and Trey Lealaimatafao next in line

Yep. A good coach builds his offense around his players' strengths. Miles does not. He forces superior talent to play in a junior high level offense. IMO, talent mismanagement has been has been a hallmark of Les Miles' tenure at LSU.

If Jennings is going to be our starting QB I just hope he's working one three or four timing routes with the WRs. Jennings just needs to trow to a spot and trust his WRs. He'll never have the arm strength to throw a WR open.
But Brandon has that capability and it's nice to have that capability in the bank when the play breaks down a bit. Miles seem to not value QB improvisation...something Jennings does not have and something Harris is loaded with.
Discounting QB improvisation = 1.5 loses.
Oh well.

For Harris. Not Jennings. Year 3 for Jennings.

Development is the issue, yes, but these threads turn into shite fest as to why development has been a problem. It immediately turns into Les bashing even though developing QB's isn't what Miles background in coaching comes from. He's an old offensive line/TE coach. He doesn't have the pedigree & touch to develop quarterbacks.
His biggest downfall with quarterback development has been his coaching decisions & reactionary stance in bringing in someone who actually was worth a frick as a developer of quarterbacks. The program went too many years in between Jimbo Fisher & Cam Cameron. The trickle down effect is still biting us in the arse even now because there was no one ready & developed in the wings to take over for Mettenberger when he left last year.
