All gone for next season
We are all in this year, Omaha or bust because the pitching will be great next season but the hitting will def take a dive!
It's early but it is VERY IMPORTANT for
Mike Papierski, Jordan Twins, Deichmann, Zardon and Fraley to get as many AB's as they can because that will be the heart of the lineup next season unless we land a few other Freshmen

There are signs of his impact. Aggressiveness on the bases. More hands on approach. And I liked the adjustment since the first Arkansas game. I'm not saying he hasn't been a positive. Just that it helps tremendously that we play almost all upper classmen.

Understood.

Again, this is true no doubt. Of course, talent being equal, we'd rather juniors/seniors to freshmen/sophomores, but what I am saying is that it is more than that. Things are different like you said. Does anybody think that we'd be leading the nation in BA with Javi still here?

Short answer....no.
Probably around 20th if I had to guess.

Let me come up with an equation to decide the national ranking if Javi were here instead of Andy.
I'll get back to you.

There must be some formula for this. Seriously, there is such a dramatic increase in BA that I can't attribute it all to the fact that the guys are juniors/seniors. Of course, it could all change as we plow through the SEC schedule.

FYI
Bregman was up to 48.0 before he struck out last night. He was Leading the Nation

Questionable call on that third strike too IMO.

There, I fixed it for you. He should STILL be leading the nation.
Dang. I type slower than King Jong.

but but we were all so mad about not running up the pitch count the other night when we had seven hits in the first four innings against Arkansas. Your batting average rises when you attack hitable pitches when you have the talent we have. That's the formula. A lot of posters were complaining about running a pitch count up on a guy we were knocking all over the park.

And we were right. You've seen much more patience and discipline the last 3 games. That's the adjustment that was made. Much better ABs up and down the lineup. Seeing more pitches, productive outs.

Think he is referring to the day killian pitched. Everyone on here was freaking out during the game that we werent driving his pitch count enough, but we were gettin really good swings. Think posters were ignoring that fact. Plus he threw like 80% strikes, and alot of them were very hittable pitches. So i was happy.

I wasn't around for that game. I could only check in on the score ever hour or so. If that's what he meant, cool. I'm not in that number I guess.

Productive outs do not equate to rise in average. I'm not arguing productive outs are a bad thing. I'm just saying a rise in batting average is due to attacking the best pitch you see. And that may be an 0-0 fast ball. So be it. Don't rave about batting average and then complain when we are getting hits but not running up a pitch count.
And I don't mean you personally. Just the board in general.

Which game were you referring to?

I know it is still relatively early, but this is evident to me. Basically the same players, but things are different.
single biggest difference last year to this year is the ball.
New ball > Cannizaro
don't get me wrong, I love having Cannizzaro.
