are Laird and Stevenson locks to go pro? seem like the personalities that would potentially stay and get their degree.
I'm a little nervous, because if it does happen, LSU will be missing that rangy athletic outfield we're so used to seeing

They are gone. You can always get your degree in spring training. They are being projected high enough to go pro.

This ranking is prior to this season, and after the start both players have had it can only have gotten better...
Andrew Stevenson - 85th ranked prospect (3-4 rounder)
Mark Laird - 129th ranked prospect (5-6 rounder)
FYI
Mac Marshall - 82nd ranked prospect

I agree with you. As good as Laird is at the college level, he lacks power at the plate and a strong arm in the OF.

MLB teams don't care about hitting HR's when you have his speed and size. He isn't huge, he is tall and fast. He can also BUNT like a pro and he hits the ball to the opposite field at will. Not to mention he is the majestic LEFTY
Why do people downplay his bat? He gets singles and he hits opposite field because he knows how to hit a baseball. He isn't lucky all the time. He understands what to do and how to hit
He is going pro

Size doesn't matter without power. They may not care about power from their 2nd basemen, but they will with an outfielder.

This year is a maybe IMO.
He can be drafted in the 5-15 round range. If its towards the back end, especially in the double digit rounds, it definitely wouldn't surprise me if he came back. He may also have a longtime girlfriend he wants to stay next to for another year.

Yep, the arm is the biggest thing to me.
I honestly can only be projected as a centerfielder. Dont think he can play corner outfield at the next level.

He won't make it past the 8th round

Thats speculation. I don't believe you to be a scout

No doubt about that. His prospect status depends on him being a great defensive center fielder. Otherwise he's likely a career minor leaguer hoping to make the majors as a reserve outfielder. He is already 22, or soon to be 22, so it isn't like he has a lot of projection left with his bat unless he drastically changes his swing.
