Nice..........

CRUISING meaning not working hard and allowing the defensive line to atrophy and the linebackers do the same.
So the players are his puppets.. And Miles or any other coach on the team didn't realize that the D was being abused in the bowl game and questioned Chavis??? Esp Miles.. I mean it IS HIS team afterall.....

I pretty much know what it was but am not going to start shite at this point.
Oh please do kmow it all.........

chavis is a back stabbing son of a bitch that can handle no criticism whatsoever
Most coaches are....

LSU is better off w/o him
I agree here....

les miles, while he makes mistakes, is a class act
Never said he wasn't..... But his coaching effort against Bama in the NC game was as bad as Chavis coaching job against ND.. There is no difference.. You want to bitch about Chavis and the things he did??? Fine. I am glad he is gone. But to try to minimize what Miles did on 1/9 is just stupid.. a-hole.......

Maybe the better question is whether Chavis deliberately tanked the game. If he knows he's gone, why help your recruiting rival by winning that bowl game? Tank it, go to A&M and use the bowl loss against us. Blame it on Leslie.

This is all going to play out in court...in East Baton Rouge Parish. Chavis nor A&M stand a snowball's chance in hell of a verdict in their favor.
I'm VERY curious was LSU's request for all communication information from Chavis yields.
And yes, Chavis, like a snake, folded and checked out from his responsibilities before the bowl game. Twitter and other social media outlets were already breaking the news the morning of kickoff. Then, he leaves and doesn't even have the integrity to tell his own players like a man...yeah, he just gave recruits and other schools lots of recruiting ammunition to use against A&M.

It is untenable to be unable to trust your pool boy. He had to go.

Well that's the first trait I look for in my pool boys...trustworthiness.

After reading all the articles about the messy divorce between Chavis and LSU, do you think Chavis' in game coaching of the defense during the bowl game with Notre Dame was directly impacted?
absolutely

if fact I dispute much of what you said. you are attempting to relate chavis performance with miles performance and justify chavis's performance. AND, you CHERRY PICK miles performance. I was not cherry picking chavis performance when I said his performance began to drop after the '11 season and the DL and LB suffered. looking back, maybe miles should have canned both chavis and haley.
john chavis did not hold brick haley accountable nor did he hold john chavis accountable (lbs). and he resented miles "management" when the LSU defense slipped. you and others can say what you want about LSU's "top rated" 2014 defense but I saw them get MAULED against several teams. yes, it was better than 2013 but not by much.
now chabis can bring his talents to a new school. he is a credible DC, esp if he has coaches that can recruit. I fully expect him to improve the aggy D IF the recruiting thing pans out.

It's very odd that this communication would have taken place at all on game day with Sumlin / Chavis.;
Does anybody know who initiated the communication?
It make s a difference, doesn't it?
Even if it was Sumlin, the fact that he would be calling on game day of a bowl game to another team's DC speaks volumes either for his lack of respect for Chavis' professionalism, or for the depth and maturity of their mutual understanding that Chavis was leaving, or both.
Makes BOTH of them look sleazy.

I want to know if they discussed the game and if so was there a mutual agreement that Third and Chavis would tank it?
Posted on 3/25/15 at 12:51 pm to gumbeaux
He and kwon both packed it in
Posted on 3/25/15 at 1:40 pm to nitwit
agreed. how did Chavis even have time for the call?
it's a shame that a guy with Chavis' breadth of work would tarnish his legacy like this. sure, there's a lot that goes on behind closed doors in all realms of Athletics and maybe this is a small glimpse into it. but Chavis looks like a dumbass for how he's gone about all this. and Sumlin is an even bigger dumbass for publicly acknowledging that the pool boy was right.

... And publicly firing the pool boy. Nobody in any line of work publicizes firings. It's unprofessional and devoid of class regardless of circumstances.
And to do so on Twitter no less...

Really???? Sorry ou don't agree with how I feel. BUT you can't dispute my post about Miles mistakes... There are more than there should be....

and justify chavis's performance
Not at all. I will agree he didn't care about the bowl game. That's very obvious. However the same people that were cheering like crazy for Chavis and the job he did with the 2011 D are now saying he sucks and is an a-hole...
If the LSU D is no better than last year, are you gonna BASH Steele and coach O the way you are bashing Chavis?????
Posted on 3/25/15 at 3:49 pm to gumbeaux
It is fair to think that Chavis may have made decisions in preparation for the Notre Dame game and during the game that were intended to impair LSU's recruiting. Why should Chavis deserve any benefit of doubt given he knew he would be departing for a direct competitor?

yes.

you have no idea what you're saying here. THE SAME PEOPLE? it is not relevant anyway because he did do a great job in 2011. then, he got complacent. that's right, his performance slacked off and there were some recruiting misses or lack of development at both LB and DL. imo, after establishing himself, he defined his own job and demanded to be judged on results alone. well, that happened.
and to say miles makes more mistakes that there should be is not a fair statement. ALL coaches make mistakes. it seems only at LSU when a coach makes a mistake do the fans want to tar and feather him and run him out of town. and some of these fans NEVER, EVER FORGET THAT MISTAKE. then they turn around and forget the mistakes made by spurrier, Kelly, saban, etc.
hell, there was a segment of LSU fans that were becoming damn unhappy with Saban when he was here.
