How has your experience been so far? thinking about purchasing some for this upcoming season but not sure if it is worth it. We normally go to 2-3 shows at the Saegner a year currently.

I haven't been in several years but depending on the lineup it's pretty good. It's not the Saenger it's local theater but productions are worth it.

The Saegner is a world class theatre.
BRLT is the lowest of community theatre.

Pump the brakes a little bit there, Tiger.

It gets some serious "world class" shows and the actual space is no doubt world class

I literally don't have to.
As probably the only person on this website that actually works in professional theatre I can tell the differences. It is easily a top 25 venue.

There's a good chance of getting shot outside of both.

Are you sure?

Between what? A national touring company and a community theater in a smallish city? Congrats. However, I doubt you're really alone in this.

In the world?

I know the Saegner is offering Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Little Mermaid, and I think Aladdin this year

Call me when BR Little Theater starts hosting Guitar Warz again.

Meh, I prefer the Strand in Shreveport

Maybe not in the world, but I think the case could definitely be made for it. I've never worked outside of America, but I don't think it would be very difficult to place it inside the top 100 theaters in the world. It is definitely a top 25 in the US though.

Not sure how this makes it not a top theatre. Top to bottom the Saegner is better from size, application, importation of acts, quality of acts, revenue, material, instrumentation across all fields, etc. I'm not the one who wanted the initial difference, I just said the two are so far apart that they shouldn't even be in the same sentence.

I'm sure I'm the most experienced. I've worked in almost every state. I've worked in almost every major theatre this country has to offer and I'm an award winning sound designer.

I volunteer at our local little theatre, building all of their sets, and how much I enjoy each show varies wildly. I'd support them if I were you, and 'you' had the money. Some shows over the last 5 years have been unbearable, some have been great. This one is a Tennessee Williams and they're usually good. I think little theatres are tough places to act, being so intimate, and I admire their courage. I want it to be in our town so I support it, ask yourself that same question.
