People in sales: how do you disconnect

This could also apply to other careers where you're constantly grinding, not just sales.
With the way technology is, how do you truly disconnect? I love my job, company, customers. But I just feel exhausted and am having trouble ridding myself of dread for each work day. Has nothing to do with who/what I'm doing that day, but more about just not wanna'ing.
Besides vacation, what do my old folk experts recommend.

I am not in sales, but I have been feeling the same thing...first time in my career that I feel this way, but I actually go to bed dreading waking up the next day...
I didn't take much time off for the holidays and I can really see a big difference in how fast I am burning out this year...

I always use OOOR when I'm on vacation.
Looking for better ways to check it at the door of my house.

That's me. I've prayed about it, thinking if I could muster enough gratitude attitude (bc I am grateful) then I could get through it. But I'm having to really fake it through meetings lately. And it's making me lack the passion and enthusiasm that makes me who I am.
Maybe I just need a true vacation where my email/phone go completely off.

In sales and I'm always working bro, no disconnect. I don't mind and the money is great!

Wait. :) I was feeling like this before my award. And I'm not uppity! My manager always ensures that my ego (or lack thereof) is on the low.

I hope your manager does not lurk on the message board. Suck it up or move on to a different gig or GTFO of the industry.

I'm the same way. I dread going to work each day and it's not sustainable. Thankfully I will be moving groups soon and hopefully it will help ease the dread of each work day.

you have to create groundrules
it's all about efficiency
i am about to create a bunch to be more efficient. last week was terrible. i had plenty of time to make progress and much was wasted

Most will disagree, but after many, many years of quotas, emails, cells, texts......you can't shake the feeling you have. This is my first year on a base plus bonus comp plan and I can finally see how some reps relax. I have always been 100 percent comm, I loved the uncapp d income, this new deal is lame, but relaxing.
I haven't taken four weeks of real, can't reach me, vacations in 10 years. Don't do that

Great advice! I'm obviously sucking it up everyday, as I continue to do my work. I'm asking for ways to be better and improve myself, so if that's your advice..see yourself to the next boo-hoo thread.

In sales: you don't get to disconnect. Unless you own your own rep group.
Get use to it. Its how it is.
You didn't explain what you needed to disconnect from.

Foot, no idea how you do that. That's some true pressure cooker sales, sounds like. I don't want to end up in your shoes regarding vacation, but at my current pace I need to make a change or else I will. I think the constant connectivity makes burning out happen faster.
I'm venting about it and I already feel better. Thanks.

Your company does not GAF about your disconnect…find a different approach. I am sure you're in the show up and throw up mode.
