Yeah, I was half paying attention. Much like in 7 guys playing behind him.

Throw strikes young man.

command issues

Only thing I saw as well. Just struggled to find the strike zone today. When pitchers are wild, it puts them in a lot pinches. OTOH, it keeps batters off rhythm. Had control issues but had a no-hitter through 4 or 5 innings.

He's still finding himself on the mound. He was no where near his peak performance and was still getting ground balls. He's already an above average Sunday starter 5 weeks into his career.

I was listening on the radio. Sounded like he struggled early on but he fought through it quite well. I am sure the coaches were letting him be tested to see how he would respond. Lots of talent there. This was a good growth experience for him.

He did fine. Once he gets control down here will be elite.

He's throwing now. He's got four weeks before he throws in competition. I also doubt he starts, but that's because we desperately need another lefty reliever. We would have won game two if we had an option other than Bouman.

Also, Stallings is developing a pattern of not being able to perform two days in a row. Look for our closer to be Person on Saturdays. If so, CPM needs a setup man.

"A" slate relievers are Person and Stallings to setup and close, Strall, Cartwright, Newman. Bouman, Deval, Bain are the "B" slate CPM will use to eat innings if we have a big lead. Bugg is a tweener.

I'm sorry. On my phone and didn't realize I missed this part:

That was from a James Moran tweet. Did he mean on a mound to pitch or on a mound in a game? Idk

How many tards ever stepped on an SEC field of play at 18 years of age? Anyone criticizing has never done so..Not everyone matures or develops at the same pace...go look in the mirror...what can you do half as well as any one out there on the field of play...just a reflective thought for some "fanatics"...be happy...we won...being happy means succeeding in your own life...are you happy? lol

Lots of them. 100s of thousands if you're talking about all sports.

That's not true. And I haven't seen anyone in this thread go overboard anyway. It's all relevant concerns.

Again, it sucks that he's going to be compared to Lange his whole college career.

They aren't superstar athletes, Phil. There are doctors, lawyers, physicists, etc. who post about baseball and are very good at what they do.

I like him. You can tell he's still getting comfortable on the college level, but he has good stuff and moxie up there...I like that he's shown the ability to work out of trouble, even if it's usually self inflicted haha.

Latz will be ready by the final Sec series and postseason. BTW I think it's good to have pitcher who is pissed off sometime! Especially on Sunday if you've won the 1st 2 games. We need to push ourselves toward greatness.

Yeah we won't get anything out of Latz until the postseason. Maybe he can fill a role like chad jones did in 09

Didn't Ranaudo go through injuries in 2008 and was used mainly in relief in the postseason?

Yes, he pitched in relief during the super regional and Omaha.

Hell, that's better than nothing. We always need a guy who can eat up a decent amount of innings in relief in the postseason. And if he's as good as advertised, he may be a guy we can slide into a starting role at that time.

I can't remember where I saw it, but it said Latz was starting a five week throwing program before returning to the mound. There's some ambiguity there, but I took it for live action in five weeks. That was a week ago. Our staff is really needing another quality reliever, who can go three or four innings, and a lefty. Maybe Latz is that guy.

Dude, you probably need to find another site to spend your time on. Nobody is bashing the kid. It's an opinion and message board. If you're upset about this thread, you have sensitivity issues.
