I need to get some bamboo to screen one side of my property. Only issue is that I need it to be mostly fully grown to a height of about 25'. Any nurseries around BR that I can get it like that? I don't mind a little drive. Or can anyone recommend an alternative? The less expensive the better.

Terrible fricking decision! Go with something less invasive!

Please come get it from my neighbor. His is spreading across the fence into my yard and there's nothing I can do to stop it short of lots of fire

You can buy it in 7 gallon pots, and that will be about 8' tall. It won't take long to grow to a tall height, but it will eventually grow up through your fence, damaging your fence boards. It will also spread everywhere you don't want it to.

Get Savannah Hollies...pretty year round, nice height and manageable width, and will provide privacy very quickly.

When we put a pool in about years ago I got some clumping bamboo. They were fairly large already (probably about 12 feet tall) and split them in half.

They are now well over 25 feet tall. If memory serves we got them at that nursery off of airline hwy behind the mazda place

I would do pompous (sp?) grass before bamboo. Bamboo will be a headache to keep from spreading also it always stays wet and looks like shite under it when they get tall.

Don't listen to people telling you to not plant it....they only know of the ones that spread via underground runners.

Use Alphonso Karr bamboo. It is a clumping variety and will from a tall screen within 2 years. Hollies and other large shrubs are great too but they will take longer to format a solid barrier.

This bamboo is excellent in Louisiana.

Oh and you can get it in pretty big sizes for not too much money.
