Wrap the pill in some cheese and give it to the dog. It'll for sure get eaten/taken.

I give one of my dogs a pill twice a day...but I just throw it in his food bowl. It's also admittedly a little less important so if he eats around it or something instead of eating it then it isn't a big deal.
