LSU's record against weak teams in conference play isn't very good.

Illinois' RPI is at 61 and Miami's is at 63. They'd both likely have to win their tournaments.
Yeah, but they don't really care about this. YThe committee tends to weigh good wins much higher than they do bad losses. Bad losses is like the 4th tiebreaker probably when they are looking at teams.

Purdue, UCLA, and Richmond are probably the only at large's that overtake LSU from behind. A bunch of buster's is the only thing that can knock LSU out.
Watch out for whoever plays: Iona, Stephen F Austin, or Wofford
Those are the only 3 1-bid leagues I see in the Top 50 RPI. If either of those 2 get upset, they could still make it as an at-large, but I doubt it.

We have much better wins, but our bad losses are whats killing us.
I don't understand RPI
How Davidson is 29 doesn't make sense to me looking at their resume.

good wins mean more to the selection committee than bad losses do
why are so many people forgetting this?

Look at how those 3 teams are setup in their tournaments, they are poised to make BIG moves very quickly by beating top RPI teams. This is why those teams are very dangerous to us in the event we lose to aTm.

I was responding to someone else's comment about it being better to have a lower seed in SECt to play weak teams and pick up extra win.

I think he's simply pointing out the bad losses are what has put us in this situation to begin with. I mean our resume isn't much different than Arkansas' outside of the crap losses we have and they don't have...look at the difference they make.

I would think if we could win just 1 game in the SEC tournament, we would be a lock for at least a 10 seed
hopefully exactly a 10 seed and not an 8 or 9

I agree.
Go look at the 7 8 and 9 seeds resumes. I don't know what makes any of theirs better than ours. We have better wins and more of them than all of them, but we have the worst losses. It's got to be the thing holding us back.

Conference achools cant play each other in first 2 rounds. Kentucky as a 1 and 2 sec schools predicted as an 8 or 9 i think lsu is being put at 10 on that rule. Lsu was gonna get pushed to a 10 or 7 if others hold their spots in conf

Or we can win the tourney and jump to a 4 seed. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconPimp.gif)

A&M as of now is slightly out of the field. If LSU is on the edge, you can't go 0-3 vs a team like that and expect to be safe.
Posted on 3/9/15 at 12:21 pm to Scoob
They won't look at it as a loss to someone out the field. They would look at it as a loss to a 55 RPI which isnt considered a bad loss by any means.

Why does everyone have us landing in Kentucky's bracket?

We moved up 5 places, then fell back 3 due to other games that hurt us overall.
