Been using HR Block but thinking of using TurboTax this year.

How easy is it? I've never done it on my own.

How much does it cost?

What are your thoughts on it?

I do and it's really easy. It links up with mint.com to import everything so my taxes take about 2 hours to do.

Cost depends on how complex yours is. It used to be about $60 for me to do state and federal, but since I itemized this year it is was 90 something.

It's pretty straightforward and easy to use. I've been using it for 5 years now and I recommend it to everyone. I pay about $30 for the federal return with itemized deductions and I file the state return for free at the Dept of Revenue site.

I actually went the other way, had used TT for years, but tried H&R Block this year. Just as easy IMO and cheaper.

Once you do everything the first time it'll carry everything over to future returns to make them easier. Don't know if they will read competing file formats but they might.

Depends on the version. I'm sure their website will provide full details.

I used hr block software this year and it is way more confusing than turbo tax. Turbo tax is much easier

I recommend tax act. It's 21.99 for state and federal and does everything I need it to, including house, investments, HSA, other deductions etc.

There's really no "better" software if you know what your doing IMO. Forms are forms.

Will use something other than TT due to recent shadiness.

Had my identity stolen using turbo tax, and a false return made in my name. Now using a CPA.

I use TT, I think it was ~$70 for fed and state. Super easy, this was my second year doing it and it took less than an hour (because my info was saved from last year).
