Yes. They measure how many points ("counterpoints") a player gives up when he is responsible for an opponent. They use the tracking data to determine who is responsible.
Interesting idea, but most teams are running PnR and moving the ball in ways that require help in order to be an effective defense.

If we lose this game that says a lot. We don't make the playoffs if we lose this game. It's that critical in so many ways. This is ridiculous to even watch a game this close.

Right and my exact example in this game of him being a bad defender was somebody who he wasn't guarding hitting a 3 because the whole defense had to help him out upon seeing the mismatch.
His real plus minus, which is a measure of how him being on the court helps the team defense, is bad this year and last year.

The Celtics offense moves so fluidly, I imagine they will be pretty good once they get some more talent. Brad Stevens was always able to win with inferior talent at Butler, if he can get talented players to buy into his style he is going to be a pretty successful NBA coach.
