I would go to Guy's or Domilise's for a Po- Boy. F&M's is totally late night college party. You should go to Snake and Jake's Christmas club lounge late night. It is another universe in there.

Seriously, dude, be careful. Lawyer from California got curb stomped last December because he tried to walk from the quarter to the Hyatt. He was a big dude, savvy, and they did not steal a thing.
When the locals tell you this, take it seriously.

Take a cab. Don't walk.
Posted on 3/5/15 at 3:42 pm to JudgeHolden
Last time I was in NOLA it didn't really seem like a walkable city other than the CBD* -thanks Saint ;^).

If you're going to do any walking around your hotel stay on St Charles, or south of that. Don't go wandering north.
ETA: the area you are in is walkable, there are quite a few restaurants and bars on Magazine/St Charles.

Is Audubon park and zoo worth checking out?

Just in case you get a little cocky about it . . . .
