Yes, I have done this before, twice. First time the dude was extremely grateful. The second time the guy called BS and took the girl's side, then they said I was the one who was coming onto her. It was a disaster.

Regardless of whether or not you have sex with her, you should keep the texting going. Reminisce about old times and say how much you love the memory of her. She's with someone else now so this texting is wrong and exciting. It probably won't go anywhere but it's interesting and will give some meaning to an otherwise boring life. This kind of dramatic experience is always fun and totally worth it. Have fun with it and make sure you tell a lot of people because it's interesting and people like interesting stuff.
