Every phantom call Dwyane Wade got during the 2006 Eastern Conference Finals is my most dismal moment

Maybe the other team scored in your own basket and you were the closest one to it so they credited you with the bucket?

The ones he got at home in the Finals were even worse

Blew through a stop sign trying for an inside the park home run and got thrown out at the plate.

Got beat down the sideline and gave our rival schools best player an open shot at goal for the county championship....he made it of course. We lost 1-0
In high school we lost like 4 buzzer beaters in basketball my senior season.
In region tournament I was playing the best game of my life and got too amped. Ref hit me and an opposing player with a double tech. Coach benched me for the rest of the game. We lost by a buzzer beater three. I proceeded to cry like a baby...I forgave myself 3 years later. Took me forever to come to terms with coach.

I also got blind side hit so bad my junior year in HS that my helmet made a full quarter turn on my head so that my ear hole was at my chin. I was the only decent long snapper and was covering a punt. Returner broke loose and I was chasing down their sideline. Dude caught me so good it knocked me off of my feet, through their bench and into the padded stadium wall. I get up acting not fazed other then my ear hole at my chin and blind. The crowd above me leaning over the wall hollering at me while I wade through a gauntlet of their players talking shite....trying to straighten my helmet.

1/9 and 2005 World Series are my 2 most heartbreaking moments as a fan.

Missed wide open lay up in 9th grade. Didn't even hit the rim, right off the backboard. Rotated my wrist away from the bucket. Of course no one remembers a game winning steal or me blocking the shite out of a runaway fast break layup. Nope. Embarrassing
Our football team wasn't very good my 4 years there. Downright atrocious. Senior year we weren't winning but games were close going into the 4th quarter. Anywho, I'm playing TE and our QB was a scrambler who could do some amazing shite running. I'm destroying some kid blocking him 10 yards off the LOS and think I hear a whistle. Kid I'm blocking tackles our QB right next to me. QB had started his scrambling and had 80 yards of grass after me. FWIW the playcall wasnt supposed to have him anywhere near me. I immediately removed myself from the game. We lost by 1 going for two to win it at the end. My best friend still brings it up.

11-12 dixie youth all star, we were playing the best team, against prob the best pitcher, in a close game. It was late in the game and i hit this blooper right over first base. Foul territory was slanted to drain rainwater easier. So the ball hits right on the line, and the natural spin caused it to roll down into foul territory.
the fields arent huge, so a double isnt a given. Im busting arse out of the box and get into 2nd base. The ball, meanwhile rolls down the embankment and slides under the fence. "Ground rule double!"... whew... well the other team appeals that I missed 1st base, and the umpire calls me out...on what was a ground rule double.

Back when I called HS games, I blew a call on the GL in a playoff game. What I learned from the mistake made me a better official, but that doesn't change the fact I fricked up and fricked up in a big game.
You remember your mistakes....even 20+ years later.

I guess because I played basketball and ran the 400m in T&F, my track coach thought I should be good at hurdles without any practice...
I hit every fricking hurdle and came in last place by almost a mile in my one and only hurdle race in HS
It was my most embarrassing HS sports moment

I was a big MLB fan as a kid. One of the coolest things to me was the catcher whipping it around the horn after a K. In my first little league game (as catcher) I finally had my shot and beaned the kid at 3rd base, who wasn't looking.

I dropped what probably would have been the game winning pass in OT against our rivals my senior year. I say probably because we got the ball first, but we were shutting them down the entire game. I actually initially caught it but unexpectedly got hit and then dropped it.
We never scored in OT and some fricker booted a 45 yard FG (which was extremely rare to see for the schools we played) to win it for the rival.
I probably got 3 hours of sleep that night I was so upset. And to relive it the next day in film was the worst. The coach probably made me watch it 10 times.

We went into the game tied for region lead in varsity basketball. Our school bought us all black uniforms that looked fricking sick. Went onto the road to face our rivals, we were tied with. Our fans drove 3-4 hours to black out the other team's gym. It was my first game back for 3 months and I was sick. We lost 68-102. I got dunked on for the first time ever. Someone drove and I jabbed at him and he threw an oop to a guy cutting in behind me.

I was on varsity basketball my freshman year and in a preseason tourney I got fouled with a couple seconds left when we were tied. I missed both free throws. At the end of the first overtime we were tied and with a couple seconds left I got fouled and had a one and one and I missed the first and we went on to lose in the 2nd.
For the next month at the end of every practice I had to make 2 free throws or the entire team had to run suicides. Then, I would get another chance and if I didn't make them both we would have to run. This would go on for as long as it took me to make 2 in a row. Most days I hit them both, some it took a few tries. It was miserable since I was the only freshman on the team, there was one other sophomore but everyone else was a junior or senior and I was making them run. We went on to finish 2nd in the state in 5A, the highest division, so it was all was ok in the end but god that sucked.
