I'm assuming our cotton products come from China or Mexico.

No.

However, I work with a guy from NJ and I was telling him about a plantation near my house. The look on his face was pretty funny. He assumed that they were all mandated to be destroyed or something.

I have never once heard anyone make a serious comment about it.

However those "Cotton" license plates, yea. Those seem racist. Only driven by white frat guys at LSU who don't work for a cotton company.

I've heard lots of serious comments about those. Personally I don't give a shite.

Growing up, we had a Yankee neighbor whose mother came down to visit, right after they built their house.

She saw black guys with croker sacks planting grass sprigs and went off on her daughter for using slaves to plant the yard. No shite.

Yankees are going to keep alive whatever negative stereotype about the South they can because it justifies them feeling better about themselves, kind of like how the white supremacist sees every car with spinners and a booming sound system as validation of his beliefs.

was a lot of Cotton, Sourgam and Corn when I was a kid in Texas. I saw so much of it, I always associated it with farming and never thought it was odd.

True story .

Every year some dumbass mother frickers stops to take pictures while we are picking cotton.

I've learned to take this as pristine trolling opportunity.

I usually say something along the lines of all our slaves are in the back of the field right out of site.
The ones they see are just part time slaves and we let them go home at night.

You'd be amazed the looks and questions / comments I get

Frogmore Plantation near Jonesville makes bank busing tourists up from New Orleans to see a real live cotton farming operation. Europeans especially love that shite.
