he entered the NY harbor, and was immediately locked up until he was completely processed and checked out by doctors, etc. At least that's what it showed in Godfather II.

Now people come here on a regular basis, we don't know their names, or whether or not they are healthy or even if they are law abiding citizens.

The open borders people like to trumpet the fact that we are a nation of immigrants, and that somehow tightening borders and checking out these immigrants is un-American. But is that really the case.

Didn't we filter immigrants and enforce the borders as best we could a 100 years or so ago to protect the homeland and to try and insure public health?

Sure we let the Godfather in, but at least we knew he was here.

Interesting point. Yea, it was a movie but do we know that's not really how it happened back in the day?

They also didn't allow them to file back taxes for earned income tax credits 100 years ago either...

I never got the part where Danny Aiello chokes out Frank Pentangeli and he says, Michael Corleone says hello."

Was Michael really saying hello, or was that a setup?

And how about that cop? He just starts shooting. Has no idea what's going on, just pulls his revolver because someone starts yelling in the background. Next thing you know, Cicci is taking five shots and two cars in the chest. No dogs around, either.

Vito Corleone never came to America. Vito Antolini did.

Get your shite straight if you gonna needlessly bitch about something.

You do realize most illegal immigrants are here on expired visas right?

Do you think the border with Mexico was any more secure in the late 1800s/early 1900s, when Vito came thru Ellis Island? No way.

Also note, the nativists treated all the Italian immigrants like shite, just like you treat the Messicans today.

Fun fact... the boat that he came over on in the movie is now moored on the Delaware river in Philly. It is now a restaraunt. Makes excellent gin and tonics.
