It seems like this topic has already been broached on here recently, yet I am old and have forgotten. Please, OT, enlighten me once again.

I like my Serta iSeries. It's heaven.

I used a Serta Perfect Sleeper Extra Firm for years and years and do not know if they still make them or not as I do not live in the U.S. anymore.

We have both in our house - Serta doesn't come close to our tempurpedic and our sleep number bed didn't even last the trial period.

What's the best place to get one of these Serta's?

Just got a Serta iComfort and could not be happier. King $3000

I sold mattresses at a major retailer for a year. If it isn't tempupedic or serta comfort (their memory foam series), then feel free to negotiate like a mofo. Don't be a dick, but the prices are flexible for non-tempurpedic.
My advice, go to your local store that has major brands, take time to find what feels good (don't lay on one thing and go with just because it feels better than your old bed). Then go online and find the best price. Us-mattress, Macy's, 1800mattress are all good. Bring the website printout or email them a link and they should match or beat it. If they don't price match, then get out of there.
One caveat, the same mattresses have different names every place. What you need to look at is brand name, coil count (this is the big one), warranty, and padding layers. If these match up, you have same bed, and any salesperson or dealer worth their salt will match the price. Delivery might be an extra charge if the online place charges. Happy shopping!

Thanks so much for your insight. Are they negotiable at places like Sears and Macy's or just the local stores?
I like the Sertas, but almost had a bodygasm when I laid down on this Stearns and Foster. Liked for for $1,800, almost proposed to one that was 26. But it's hard not to take the bias of knowing how much one costs into your perception of it. I wish there were a way to do a blind test.
Am. I crazy for thinking about dropping 25 hundred on a damn mattress? My justification is that a good night sleep makes for a more well rested and productive day. Seems like a good investment. But will I really sleep that much better than on one that costs $1200?
